My To-Read List

While at school, I don’t have much time to read anymore. However, summer is coming up and I want to jump back into reading again, so I’ve been compiling a very short list of books I want to read. Feel free to suggest any good books you know of.

They Both Die At The End

This is one I’ve heard about for a few years now and I’ve on purposely stayed away from it. Just like the title says, we know both of the main characters will not make it. Knowing this from the start braces you for what’s to come, but also is so incredibly depressing because you know that no matter what, this will end a tragedy. I stayed away from this book because I knew it was going to be sad, but now I’m ready to get my heart broken by it.

The Poison Apple Series

I was reminded of this series when me and my roommate were talking about old, childhood books we read. I remember reading these in fourth or fifth grade and I absolutely loved them at the time. So I decided that I’m going to indulge in my nostalgia and reread all of them over the summer. I know the writing is not going to be anywhere as good as I remember, but I’m reading them for fun, not for quality.

Dracula

This classic most people have read or seen before. I believe I have seen this a few times as either a play or movie adaptation, but I have never read from the original text. A few years back I decided to read some of the commonly known classics because my homeschool program never had me read books that were typically assigned in school. So I read the Great Gatsby and Frankenstein and enjoyed those. Dracula was next on my list, although I never got around to reading it. Now, I want to finally mark it off my list.

Author: Macey Wilson

My name is Macey Rose. I am a visual student taking a literary class. I love fantasy and short stories. My plan is to go into creative writing so I can write and illustrate my own stories in the future.

  1. I definitely recommend Dracula and They B0th Die at The End. I read those and they were great.

  2. I’ve been wanting to read “they both die at the end” as well and I just haven’t got to it.

  3. I’ve also been trying to avoid the first book because of the title, and I’m not sure if my heart will ever be ready to read it, lol. But the poison apple series brings me back to my early childhood and I enjoyed that moment of nostalgia:)
