current rotation #3

hello. it has been a while since i’ve done one of these, so i’d like to refresh everyone with a new edition to the series. i am slightly running out of ideas, so i’ll be using this post as an easy way to get back on track. anyways, here are the songs currently in my rotation !!

thy mission – the garden

the attitude that the garden present in their music is absolutely addicting. i had this song liked for a while, but i never really listened to it as much as i have recently. i love the lyrics, and i especially love the way they are sung. this song reminds me of the ideal group of friends i imagined i’d have by now. it overall reminds me of being a teenager, and more specifically, being a dumb teenager.

call the dogs out – the garden

another one from the garden. i liked the attitude in the last song, but in this song, i 100% love it. there are some days when i’m just annoyed by everyone and everything, and this song is the perfect additive for those days. whenever i get in those moods, it’s best to just amplify them and allow myself to be annoyed for a day. i don’t know why, but being annoyed is so much more enjoyable when this song is playing.

alone again (naturally) – guilbert o’sullivan

even just hearing the chord progression in the beginning of this song makes me teary-eyed. it didn’t use to affect me much, but after the bad spell of emotions i’ve been having recently, the song absolutely breaks me. i found it because someone said it sounded like what the beatles would of sounded like if they were still together in the 70s (to whoever said that: you weren’t kidding). the lyrics are so desperately sad, but the way it’s sung almost passes the emotions over as any ordinary event. i guess that’s where the title comes in. alone again, naturally.

the only living boy in new york – simon and garkfunkel

i love simon and garfunkel. this song is so homey to me, and i genuinely love it so much. it’s so light and almost melancholic. however, i don’t think the lyrics reflect those two descriptions in the slightest. or maybe they do. this is definitely my favorite song by them, and i love listening to it during rainy car rides on the interstate- much like the ending scene of good will hunting with elliott smith’s miss misery playing.

swamp – the talking heads

i’ve also had this song liked for a while, but i never listened to it much until i decided to clean my entire room at home while listening to the talking heads on shuffle. this song came on, and something about it drew me in. it doesn’t sound like a talking heads song i would even like, but i do- increasingly so with every listen. i think it’s the chorus. the melodies in the chorus are so addicting, and leave it up to the talking heads to create some of the most catchy rhythms and melodies.

my sweet lord – george harrison

before you say anything, this song is not about any religion in particular. however, at the end george does sing the hare krishna mantra of the hindu organization he follows, which i think is really cool. i absolutely adore george harrison, and i don’t care that this song is his most popular, it’s 100% my favorite. for some reason, it reminds me of looking out of the window of my moms car at the passing forest scenery. the guitar riff is instantly recognizable, and even the mantra at the end of the song becomes this sort of catchy riff.

so yeah !! that’s some of the songs that i’ve really been into recently. thanks for reading !

What I’m currently playing!

Welcome back to regularly scheduled blogging now that the lore is complete. I wanted to talk about 1 game I have been playing recently. The game is called Stray. I’m just going to give some info about the game, the plot, and my own opinion. Also, do not worry about spoilers. I kept those out in case anyone reading would like to play. AHEM! A slightly important notice: I got all screenshots from Steam in amazing quality, BUT the blog website heavily lowered their quality so they may seem pretty blurry. Sorry lol.

Plot

In the game Stray you play as an orange cat. How cute is that. At the end of the basic tutorial you get separated from your family (3 other cats). Once separated you end up in a dystopian, forgotten cyber city. As this cat you have to complete missions to unlock the ancient mysteries of the city to find your way back home. You roam and climb high and low through the murky environments. You befriend droids and run from dangerous creatures at times. The game has 12 chapters for you to complete.

Stats, facts, reviews

Stray came out July 19 of last year. It was developed by Blue Twelve Studio and comes from the franchise Annapurna Interactive. The game is available for PlayStation 4 and 5 owners as well as Windows for the PC. I personally use PC, but the game creators actually recommend it to be played on a controller. If you’re used to a PC though I play perfectly fine on my keyboard and mouse. I purchased Stray through Steam for about $30 without a bundle. The price is the same for PlayStation consoles. It is an indie adventure game supported by 16 languages. It is single player as well. Now, the reviews. I got all the information you’re reading from Steam besides my personal opinions. In the all reviews category it has 103,148 that are categorized as overwhelmingly positive. 97% of these 103,148 reviews were good ones. I took a look into the bad review category to see which ones were important and differentiate how many of these were just people owning sucky consoles. One review seemed important and stood out the most to me. It discussed how the game gives no warning of “body horror.” Now, this review is picky on what you consider body horror because I don’t see that in Stray. The point the review was trying to make is that the people in the game are human like machines and in one scene the walls blink at you. In my own personal words body horror is more of gore factor torture and that is not displayed in this game. I thought I would still mention it since the game slightly had body modification. Secondly, I saw a lot of reviews saying it wasn’t worth $30. I could slightly agree. I’d say if you want the game wait for it to be on sale. You get maybe 8-10 hours of gameplay that, to some people, can be repetitive. I personally don’t find it repetitive, but a lot of reviews did.

My opinion

Now, for my personally outlook at this game. I absolutely love this game. I find it very adorable that we get to play in 3rd person as a little orange cat. The gameplay to me is very relaxing. You do different types of parkour with the cat to navigate the cyber city. Which also means he rides down zip lines in a little bucket sometimes! So cute. I do have to agree with one of the reviews though. It isn’t a lot of gameplay especially if you are an avid gamer. I played it for about one hour a couple days ago and I had already gotten to chapter 6 out of 12 and was already preparing the cats escape back home. When that part came up I paused for a second and thought about how fast that came up. BUT I do think it was still worth the $30. The game is excellent quality if you have the PC stats to run it on a PC. Very clear and beautiful images and smooth movement. You also get a very interesting plot with different gameplay types. By that I mean you don’t just run around, jump on things, and complete missions. It comes with different types of parkour, puzzles, talking to the droids, unlocking equipment, finding collectables, running from enemies, and even playful interactions as a cat. When your in one of the apartments in this city you have several cute options around the house that cats typically do. You can scratch their furniture and walls, turn on/off/change their radios, make biscuits on the carpet, and knock things over. Even outside of the apartments you can find other cute interactions such as those. Overall, I really enjoyed playing this game. It was so cute and very enjoyable.

dream guitars

hello hello hi hi hi how are you guys i am doing good yes yes yes. okay, so, genuinely have been running out of ideas lately. i haven’t done a lot of non-list themed blogs… and i’m not going to start now. we’re doing another list blog !!! (woo) and this time i am going to be talking about some of my dream guitars. as of now, i currently have four guitars: two electric and two acoustic. as much as i love them, there is only one that i would consider to be a “dream guitar”, and it’s broken</3. so, with that being said, here are the guitars that i do in fact consider to be my dream guitars.

the kurt cobain jag-stang

oh how i would love my own bright red kurt cobain jag-stang. i am absolutely partial to fender guitars, and both of my electrics are made by fender. i’m also extremely partial to telecasters, but there is something about the jag-stang that has me in a chokehold. maybe it’s the bright red color, i don’t know- but i find myself thinking about this guitar all the time. seeing it in person has been a truly euphoric experience for me, as its beauty cannot be defined just by photos. also, the most important part: it sounds kickass.

the jimmy page mirror telecaster

now, i’m not a huge zeppelin fan, but i cannot deny how rad this guitar is. there’s something so,,, psychedelic about it to me. and if you know me, you know i absolutely love everything psychedelic (hehe). i haven’t heard a lot of demos from this guitar, but just from the price and the fact that it’s fender, i have no doubts in my mind that is plays beautifully. i would absolutely kill for this guitar, and i’d definitely want to see it being played in a dimly lit setting with different colored lights: that would be awesome.

1966 rickenbacker

now this one is a love purely based on looks, or, maybe the fact that george harrison played a rickenbacker. i first found this guitar on a beatles cover video, and i instantly fell in love and spent the rest of the day looking at the different models and specs of the guitar. i have heard a couple demos, and while i do think i enjoy the sound, i enjoy the design of it much more. however, from my understanding, these guitars are exceptionally hard to get in good condition nowadays. so, that dream might be over</3.

so, those are my top three dream guitars !! i probably have more that i really like, but these are the first ones that came to my mind and also the ones i’d think would be hardest to get. (availability, money, orientation, etc.) thanks for reading and i hope you guys have a good spring break !!!

Helping my Scatterbrain

Hello friends! If you guys remember last week’s post, you know that I and getting stuff done (whether it is something I want to do or have to do) is not a combination that typically goes well. Most of it is because of my ADD but it’s also because when I get the motivation to do something, it’s rare for me to keep that motivation throughout whatever it is I’m doing. With that being said, I’ve looked into different ways to help keep myself focused and motivated. Disclosure: I haven’t actually tried these strategies just yet but when I do, next week’s post will be about what has and hasn’t worked for me.

1. Making small challenges for myself. What I mean by that is if I’m writing something, for myself or for an assignment, setting up my own challenges might help me get through whatever it is I’m writing. For example: I’m writing a short story and I just got started, my challenge for myself might be something like “write 500 words within the hour”. This will be a way of not only helping me through assignments, but also it’ll help me feel accomplished little by little.

2. Making a list of everything I have to do. So, writing stuff down helps me to remember what I have to do. And even writing down stuff that I don’t really have to do but if I want to do something but it starts to slip my mind, I can go back to that list. Plus, having a to-do list will help me to have some organization in my own little chaotic world. If I write what I want/need to do, I can keep focused on that list alone.

I know that was only like two things, but there is still a lot I have to look into. I’m trying to find things that I feel might work for me. If you also happen to be a scatterbrain, I hope that this was helpful in any way. But, due to spring break coming up, I won’t be posting next week about what did and didn’t work for me. But, I will see you guys next time:)

Future Read

Hi guys! I am here with yet another blog. I do not even know how many blogs I have posted but it has been a lot and I am really running out of ideas so today I am going to be talking about some romance novels that I would like to read, but I will only be talking about one in this blog. I will most likely end up making this a series. I think I may find books that I am interested in reading and guess their plots or what events take place in the book, and after I read it, I will come back and say what I got right, wrong, and what else happens, I do not know if I will actually stick to that because I am so indecisive.

  1. Ignite Me

First up is a novel called “Ignite Me” by Tahereh Mafi. This book is part of a series called Shatter Me. There are 11 books in the series, and they all have “me” in the title. They go in this order. Shatter me, destroy me, unravel me, fracture me, ignite me, restore me, and finally shadow me. All of these books interest me. I do not really know why but they strike something in me and the “me” in the title makes the books feel so personal which I love. Featzreviews.com describes this book as a “dystopian fiction that tells the story of a teenage girl who has never been able to experience human touch. Labelled a freak, she finds herself locked up in an asylum where she is left in complete isolation until the re-establishment decides that they want to use her as a weapon.

This book is so appealing to me because I love anything romantic, dramatic, and especially odd. I am assuming she has some form of powers or unnatural ability because they want to use her as a weapon but who knows? I am going to go look for this book in the library. If I do not find it, then I will definitely order it online. After I finish reading it, I will come back and update you guys on what happens, because then I will be able to fully review the book. I wonder why there are so many books in the series? I am not complaining, but I am very curious. Do you know how much can happen in 11 books? That is a lot! She must have so much patience and discipline to write a series because I could never, but I am still going to read all of them.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: THE LORE FINALE!! Pt. 11

IT’S OVER!!! This is the eleventh and final part to this series. In this we covered every single FNAF game and a few of the books that contained lore. NEW CHARACTERS AT THE END! I dont even know what to say as an intro so..

Vanessa made cassette tape logs on her experiences. The anomaly, Glitchtrap, seemed to attach itself into the logs within the files of the tapes. She can’t delete it now. Where she was hiding these tapes was a safe unremovable area. By attaching to these tapes he was given a safe hideout to stay in effect. Vanessa broke the logs into pieces and told anyone who found them to never reassemble them. It was too late. The logs were already assembled. Glitchtrap raids Vanessa’s mind. He didn’t take over her body but now he’s in her head pushing her to do things she would never do. Noe, he is out. Glitchtrap tells her what to do and where to go. She ends up making a full similar rabbit suit, like Glitchtrap’s, by herself in the real world. She did this thinking that William would like it. She would like to imagine the name as Vanny. Much how William named his suit Bonnie. She more and more becomes a follower of Glitchtrap and begins to plan how she will bring him back, but into his own body.

After a time of collecting revenue from the birth of the delivery service and game launch, Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex opens. All janitorial work was replaced by robots, S.T.A.F.F bots. The new animatronics included: Freddy Fazbear, Glamrock Chica, Montgomery Gator, and Roxanne Wolf. There was a Bonnie variation that didn’t really last long. One night he was seen heading to the game Monty Golf which for some reason he was dismantled and beaten by Monty Gator. Which would then lead to Monty replacing him (THIS IS A THEORY. It has not yet been shown why or how Bonnie is not present but mentioned in the game). Vanessa showed high interest in being a security guard for the location. Someone from the top of the company recommends her which gets her hired.

Once in this new location she begins plotting on how to bring Glitchtrap back into his body. She used some of the Pizzaplex’s high technology. Throughout the first week Vanessa consistently murders children to “begin the plan.” This brought on more missing children’s cases. Throughout this ordeal Vanessa has been going to see a therapist. The therapist finds out Vanessa has been talking to someone online throughout a crypted conversation. She is getting manipulative messages. Vanessa has been seen over and over in the Pizzaplex in the IT department. Sometimes they even saw her with the Vanny mask. They also caught her searching up weird things during company time such as fake fur to make the Vanny suit better.

Throughout a session Vanessa finds out that Glitchtrap has been hacking into her personal files about Vanessa’s life that the therapist uses for her. The therapist gets closer and closer to finding out what is really going on until she is suddenly replaced by another therapist who gets replaced by another and another and another every time they get close. Glitchtrap, through Vanny, is killing the therapists everytime they get close to finding out the truth. He is slowly taking more and more control over her, and when the 4th and final therapist gets too close and exposing her to lying about her family history. She lied about the court cases, the trials, and all of the above. The therapist confronts this and asks Vanessa to continue it tomorrow. Vanessa shakes her head no. Then Vanny kills the therapist and hears the voice in her head ask, “Are you ready?”

The introduction to the new starts of the show begins. A live performance by the animatronics at the Pizzaplex. Freddy begins to glitch out halfway through as if he’s being taken over. He falls out and Chica runs to him but its too late. Freddy gets restarted in safe mode, but he feels someone inside of him. A boy named Gregory snuck into the Pizzaplex and snuck into Freddy after the performance. Now the boy is about to get locked inside the building, so he follows Freddy’s instructions to the front lobby where the doors shut right in front of him. Now he is trapped inside. He had to survive the daycare and animatronics from all levels of the building, even underground. He had to destroy and dismantle Monty, Chica, and Roxy. He dismantled Monty by destroying his mini golf course to cause a huge metal bucket full of golf balls to fall and crush him. He dismantled Roxy next by driving a car around Roxy’s Raceway until she cases him. He then jumped from the go cart and it slammed straight into Roxy. Now Chica, Gregory cooks a pizza in the Pizzaplex kitchen to get her attention and throws it into the trash compactor. Once she is inside, he presses the button to destroy her by the compactor, but it gets stuck. Gregory makes a run for it and shoves Chica into the stuck part to fix the issue and she gets crushed. He sits on the ground and waits for the compactor to come back up. Chica is still alive and grabs him by the leg, but Gregory kicks her in the face and shoves her back into the compactor where it destroys her.

Gregory uses one part from each animatronic to upgrade Freddy. He needed the upgrades so he could defeat DJ music man with Freddy’s help. All while Vanny stalks him and makes attempts to get him. Gregory and Freddy work as a team to survive all these challenges together. The time struck 6 AM and Gregory ran towards the door. Gregory tries to make Freddy come with him, but Freddy says he cannot and explains the safety precautions to Gregory. Gregory asks Freddy if he leaves will there be more disappearances. Freddy says yes. This is when Freddy gives Gregory three choices. He can leave or continue to investigate the secrets of the Pizzaplex. Gregory stays to explore these secrets. Secrets beyond Vanny.

They find an elevator leading underground. The elevator leads them all the way down to the doors of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place. After Freddy tells Gregory that his friends are down there he says, “I am not me” which leads Gregory to believe something may be possessing Freddy. When they make their way into the old pizza place, they are sat in the room where Henry said his final words many years ago. Charged by the futuristic technology of the charging stations Vanny was almost fully able to reconstruct Scraptrap’s body and transfer William’s data from Glitchtrap into it. William Afton is truly in purgatory, but the glitched AI of him is free. William is back. The company threw all of the haunted, broken animatronics down there knowing it would be covered with the mall. Over time a huge mound of the animatronics had formed. Freddy begins getting taken over by Glitchtrap through the monitors in the building. Gregory uses a button to release fire into William’s room as a distraction. He must fight off all the animatronics on his own. Gregory released the fire once more, and the mound of animatronics takes William away.

After a long night, Freddy and Gregory sit together on a hill far away from the Pizzaplex to watch the sun rise. The same hill where the first 5 missing children graves rest. Gregory, and for once in the entire story, Freddy live happily ever after.

Five Night’s at Freddy’s: THE LORE pt. 10

To start off, I lied. This isn’t the last part. It’s the second to last. I didn’t have enough time to combine the last 30 minutes of my reference video, and it would be a very long blog. So, just one more week of fnaf lore.

Fazbear Entertainment was at a standstill. Little to nothing has been done with the business since all the past events. People were always working in the background. The two owners didn’t know what to do. Income wasn’t coming in at all and already low. So, the people went rogue, and not the people at Fazbear’s. They decided to create a video game series based on the true events, and rumors that occurred through out these 50 years. Once this caught corporate business’ eyes, they knew it was going to be huge. The game caught the attention of Fazbear Entertainment and they decided to make an offer. The rogue indie game creator decided to work with them, and together they set up an idea to cover up all the horrors that previously occurred. Fazbear took the idea to work with this game developer to create another game to make fun of the previous locations. It would be a virtual reality game. A game they would call Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted. The company had big plans and ideas one of which being a big location.

They knew they couldn’t stick to games. That’s not their brand nor what the company is truly about. It was about new locations and attractions, so they would have to make a new location after all these years. Where though? What would it look like? They had none of the previous animatronics either. Who would even be the stars of the show? Being the previous location burnt down they would need to cover that up before the public looked too far into it. That’s when they found a spot for the new location in mind, but they need money. The plan was to create a giant mall over the old pizza place, so it wouldn’t be so cheap. While this video game was in development they needed some source of income. This time they would make money by reselling their old merchandise and creating a delivery service to do so.

Vanessa, a blonde haired woman with green eyes, was a part of the development team for this VR game. She has high anxiety and uses calming protocols while working for the business. Her father, Bill, and mother had a custody battle in court. Her father didn’t play fairly to make her mother look bad by scaring Vanessa into lying and manipulating her into saying things that weren’t true, which made Vanessa’s mom lose the court trial. She was hired by Fazbear Entertainment to help work on this VR game, and throughout the creation she befriended another coworker, Jeremy. He was the main beta tester for it.

One day someone at Fazbear Entertainment found old unused code from the animatronics, and directed the team to scan the code to help speed the process of development. They didn’t think anything bad would come of it, so they tried implementing the real code into their game. While playing the game a figure starts to appear to Jeremy. He didn’t know what it was but called it “the anomaly.” He spoke out to the rest of the team about it. They said it was probably a bug of some sort or maybe a glitch. When Jeremey began telling them this anomaly was talking to him no one believed it. Just a glitch.

They began preparing to fire Jeremy from the business. The team and company wanted this game out as soon as they could finish it. He just kept telling them he was having nightmares, hearing voices, hallucinations, all to do with this anomaly. No one listened nor did they believe him, so he took maters into his own hands.

One morning Vanessa decided to go into work early. She saw Jeremy standing in the supply room alone. All she saw was a Halloween mask on the floor and ink sprayed everywhere. Jeremy’s shirt also covered in ink. She couldn’t see his face. He was wearing a VR headset. Unknowingly to vanessa, that wasn’t an ink and it wasn’t a Halloween mask. Jeremy cut his face off with a guillotine paper slicer. He committed suicide to prevent the anomaly from taking over his mind and getting out. Once it is reported, Vanessa goes to talk to the higher ups of the compony about what happened to him. Instead, she overhears a conversation between someone else and her manager, Dale. She learns that Fazbear Entertainment are stressing over a possible lawsuit. She learned something else, the “rogue indie game developer” was employed by Fazbear Entertainment to make the ridiculous games he previously created. It was all just one big cover up that the VR game was supposed to fully cover. Vanessa knocks and is invited inside. She was told that she would have to finish Jeremy’s work and become the play tester.

my favorite music documentaries

with the announcement of an upcoming bob dylan movie, i’ve decided to look back at some of my favorite music docs !! as everyone knows, i love music, but i also love anything that could be related to music. reviews, documentaries, books: i love them all. but one of my favorite forms of media relating to music is music documentaries !! today i’ll be showing off some of my favorite ones and giving a little summary of them:) enjoy !!

walk the line

walk the line is a movie about johnny cash’s rise to stardom, and the effects that had on him and his family. joaquin phoenix plays johnny cash, and actually sings and plays all the instruments himself- something that is rare in music biopics. phoenix completely demolished this role in the best possible ways. in this movie, we see cash start his music journey and quickly rise to the spotlight. he then meets the love of his life, june carter. however, he still has a family back home, including a wife. like many artists of his time, cash had many serious decisions to make about his new life in regards to his music. 10/10 movie, absolutely loved it.

bohemian rhapsody

i wish i could put into words what this movie made me feel the first time i saw it. not only was the casting perfect- a task that isn’t easy to accomplish perfectly- but the acting was just as perfect, if not more. this movie took me through so many emotions, and i’d feel them all again at a moment’s notice. in this movie, the focus is on queen frontman: freddie mercury. this too like walk the line goes through the beginning of the band to their rise to stardom, but there is a particular focus on freddie himself. we find out about his personal issues, such as his struggle with his sexuality and his own relationship- one that he cherished, and even wrote a song for. we see everything: from the band’s formation to their monumental live aid performance. of course, we also see the worsening state of freddie himself, and eventually his death. 100/10 movie, cannot recommend it enough.

love & mercy

maybe this is just because of my slight obsession with paul dano, but i’ve always thought that this movie was truly beautiful. a lot like bohemian rhapsody, love & mercy depicts the rise of the beach boys, and more importantly: the slow deterioration of their frontman, brian wilson. this movie goes back and forth between two time periods: brian during the beach boys, and brian after the beach boys. during the beach boys, we get to see brian’s brilliant mind at work. however, we also get to see his issues and struggles that at the time, no one knew about. after the beach boys, we see brian under the toxic influence of his full-time therapist. later in his life, he meets a woman, and she slowly tries to help him escape from the people completely controlling his life. it ends on a good note, but i don’t want to spoil it !! (i know, i’ve spoiled all the rest of them, so why spoil this one?) well, it’s because i honestly don’t think people really know about what happened to brian wilson; i believe most people are aware of freddie mercury’s death and johnny cash’s infidelity. definitely recommend this one, it really moved me.

control

this is another movie i’m going to refrain from spoiling, as i don’t think many people know about the life of ian curtis: one that is very sad and cruel. this movie DESTROYED me, and not in a good way. well, kind of in a good way. it’s incredibly sad, and definitely portrayed his life in an accurate, but unfair and depressing way. this movie is much like the last ones, in which it shows us the rise of one of the most influential post-punk bands, joy division. we see more of the life of ian curtis in this one: the frontman of the band. we learn about his life before joy division, during joy divison, and well, at the end of joy division. we learn about his infidelity and his epilepsy diagnosis. we see him struggle with both of these problems until it finally ends towards the end of the movie.. but not in the way you think</3. 10/10, will make you sob.

the devil and daniel johnston

this movie is more in the documentary style, but trust me, it is done just as well. also won’t be spoiling this one, as daniel johnston is criminally underrated and i think people need to give this movie a chance. we see the ups and downs of the life of daniel johnston: one that is equally as sad as ian curtis, but much more compelling to learn about. daniel johnston suffered from a variety of things in his life, but he was still able to create beautiful outsider music that is praised by even the likes of kurt cobain, lead singer of the late band nirvana. a very long and interesting story, and every second of this movie was worth it. 10/10 !! definitely check it out.

heaven adores you

you should have expected this one. yes, the elliott smith documentary. i have watched this movie over and over and over and OVER. i wouldn’t even care if it was absolutely horrible, i’d still be horribly addicted to it. thankfully, it isn’t absolutely horrible, it’s actually very good and it is one of my all time favorite movies. (wonder why…) it follows the life of indie rock musician, elliott smith. it goes through his life- as early as birth- to his depressing death in 2003. we see his rise to somewhat fame, and his plight with drug usage. i may be biased, and by may be, i mean that i am.. but i do believe this documentary is well done and very beautiful. if you love elliott smith, watch it. hell, if you love ME, you would watch it. 1,000,000/10, forever and always.

so those were some of my fave music documentaries/biopics !! i’m sure when the bob dylan one comes out, it’ll make its way to this list. (most likely in my top 3 too) hope you enjoyed this, i know i did !! cya next week !!!

Joe Goldberg Analysis

Okay, so hi everybody and as usual I have no idea what to do for this week’s blog soooo I guess I’ll be doing a character analysis of Joe Goldberg from the Netflix series “You.” Joe’s name in real life is Penn Badgley, but that’s irrelevant right now.

Joe is a book fanatic who started off working in a library. He was abused as a child and eventually turned into an orphan where the library owner found him getting into trouble and took him in. As a result of his childhood, Joe clings to people and forms strange attachments to them. Joe doesn’t even have to know a person to become attached to them. If he looks at you and finds you appealing, then no matter how hard he tries, he can’t stay away from you. After Joe starts to find you appealing, he then wants to get to know every little thing about you and that can be a very good or a very bad thing. It can only be decided by how the person treats Joe.

Joe doesn’t get to know a person like you and I. Getting to know a person usually happens by talking to a person, spending time with them, etc. Joe gets to know them by stalking them essentially. He watches everything they do, every place they go, and every they like. The person doesn’t usually notice the stalking right away. It usually takes a couple of weeks, after Joe starts to get sloppy. Then Joe creates this fake scenario in real life where he pretends to run into this person on accident, and then gets to know them. After the encounter with Joe most of them usually grasp a memory and realize that this isn’t the first time they’ve seen Joe, and then they get scared. Remember I said most!

After Joe meets the person, everything he does next depends solely on the person’s reaction. If they get scared, want to call the police, or they confront Joe about what he’s been doing then he usually ends up locking them in a soundproof box he has in the basement of the library, or he knocks them unconscious and tries to resolve with them when they wake up, or he just denies everything they’ve said, but the people that he tends to cling to are typically highly intelligent so they won’t go for the lies.

If they seem calm about it and they continue to interact with him as they would any other normal person, then he gets scared. Joe starts to panic, and Joe usually doesn’t panic. Everything he does is methodical, logical, and well thought out. Joe is a master of control. Anything out of his control scares him. If they are calm about it then he runs, and it’s only one person within the series that his ever been calm about his crazy, and she married him. Her name was Love. He, of course, couldn’t take it because their marriage wasn’t built on love it was built on the fact that they killed for one another and they held it over each other’s heads, so they felt like they owed each other something. They also had a child, but unfortunately Joe had to leave him behind with a nice family when joe killed his mother. In Joe’s defense Love did try to kill him first and he only killed her because of that, and he didn’t want his son to grow up to be like him.

I find Joe’s character very relatable and kind of funny to be honest. I don’t know if that makes me cynical or not, but that’s all for today’s blog see you guys next week!

A day in the life of a scatterbrain

So, a little fun fact about me, and one that you probably already figured out is that I am a total scatterbrain. I may have briefly mentioned this about me, but if you didn’t know, there you go. Why am I saying this and why is that important for a blog? Well, simply put, my being a scatterbrain and someone with ADD has a big effect on my writing. The reason why that is that I may have a whole idea for a story or a play or whatever the case may be, but I go to write it and I’m never fully engaged in the writing and five minutes later, I will go do something else.

So, this blog will mostly be about how it is dealing with my scatterbrain and ADD. And, no, I’m not offering any sort of solution for this in case someone reading it is dealing with that as well. I don’t mean to sound rude by saying that but the truth is that I don’t have a solution to give. So, after this post, I will do my own research and find ways to help with it. But for now, I will just vent about my own experience and if you’re dealing with the same stuff, then you can maybe stay tuned for next week’s post.

Now, on with the show! Obviously, having ADD has a much bigger effect on my life than just my writing. It influences everything that I do and when I am engaging with other people. No seriously, you could be talking to me for five straight minutes and I swear that I am listening to you but after the conversation, I’ll have zero recollection of what you just said. There are many other examples I could give you, but I won’t bore you with all the unnecessary details.

Here’s the part where it affects my writing. I currently am using Wattpad to write stories/digital books(No, I don’t have anything published on there). I began using it a couple of years ago when I was oozing with different ideas for a story, but every time I got started with one and continued to write it, eventually I’d drift away from it and never come back to it.

That same thing goes for assignments that I do: I’ll keep bouncing back and forth between different ideas. I’ll get to one that I’ll like and keep adding to that idea and that story/play/poem whatever, but towards the middle or the end of it, I’ll come up with a whole new idea that I really like but I’ve run out of time to add on to that. And by the time I’ve gotten done with the assignment and turned it in, I’d forgotten about the idea I really wanted to write about.

Anyways, that’s how it is, for me, to deal with having ADD while being a writer. I will search for ways to help with this and please if y’all are dealing with this and have ways of helping it, let me know. But, I hope y’all enjoyed this and I will see you guys next week:)
