Death Note? It’s been a long time coming.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! This week we’ll be talking about some of my favorite characters in Death Note and why they are my favorites. If you know me or have seen all the posters and manga in my room/dorm, you’d know how obsessed I am with this anime. Let me give you a little background on how much I love it. If I’m counting correctly, I have about 4 Death Note shirts, custom Death Note air force ones, 4 posters on my wall, two paintings, all 13 volumes of the manga, a massive manga wall I made myself, L and Light nendoroids, an actual Death Note (prop), seven pictures set up around my literary station, I have listened to the musical MANY times, and I have re-watched the whole anime at least nine times. My friend Elizabeth is also making me custom Death Note jeans which I am SUPER excited for. Anyways, let’s get to the characters!

SPOILERS AHEAD

5. Ryuk

Ryuk is the monster-looking guy with the heart earring in the photo. Specifically, Ryuk is a Shinigami, known as a god of death within this series. The actual death note used by Light was initially Ryuk’s. By purposefully dropping the book into the human realm is the start of the whole plot. After Light takes claim over the book, Ryuk is confined to a radius around Light. He makes it clear that he is only here for entertainment and will not do anything to help Light, nor will he do anything to purposefully hurt Light. I like his character because of how goofy he is. This dude does handstands for apples… I mean, that’s pretty funky.

4. Misa Amane

Misa is one of the most popular and most hated characters. In the storyline, she serves as an accomplice to Light’s reign as Kira. She also has a death note of her own, which means she has a Shinigami too. Her name is Rem, and she was going to be on this list, but Ryuk just beat her. Anyways, Misa seems pretty dumb on the outside and lets her love for Light cloud her logical thinking and individuality. This sets up great moments for her when she actually does things that are smart and help Light in the long run. She is very devoted and funny to watch on screen. I also really like the choice of clothing they choose for her.

3. Mello (Mihael Keehl)

This chocolate chomper is the counterpart for Near and one of the replacements for L. My favorite part about Mello is the part of L that he represents. He is impulsive and loves his sweets. Like L, he is absolutely brilliant and isn’t afraid to do risky things. On the other hand, he lacks the patience and deeper understanding of different ways to do things. The creator also very much did Mello well with his character design. He is literally so cool and even made a Shinigami AFRAID of him. He also rides a motorcycle which automatically gives him cool points in my perspective.

2. L  (L Lawliet)

The greatest detective to ever live, L is the second-most main character in the series and shares the same IQ as our leading character, Light. L is the counterpart to Light. Though they are counterparts, L is on the side of the justice system and works as a detective to chase down and prosecute Kira (Light). My favorite thing about L is how funky he is and how deep his character actually is. Most watchers think he’s somewhat weird but definitely brilliant. They also assume that everything he says is true and that he’s a good guy because he’s on the police’s side. This is entirely wrong, and that’s why I love him so much. We only ever get to hear what he is honestly thinking maybe twice in the entire show. Everything else is articulated to further his progress in the case. He is incredibly manipulative, but most watchers are distracted by Light’s openness about his manipulation that they entirely miss L’s manipulation. You thought he was trying to catch Kira for justice? Oh no… this is a game of pride for him. The ICP even says in the beginning that L only takes on cases he has a personal interest in. Throughout the entire show, we never once see him sweat. Even in the intense tennis match with Light, he never sweats a drop. This exhibits how wonderfully L conducts himself to project the image he wants. His complex character is one of my ALL-TIME favorites. I could go on, but I will save you the time.

1. Light Yagami (Kira)

This pen-slinging maniac is none other than “The God of the New World” himself. Light Yagami is our main character in the series. He is the son of the police chief Soichiro Yagami. Like L’s character, there is a lot of symbolism, development, and depth in Light. As watchers and readers, we get to dive deep into his psychology and really know what’s going through his head, unlike L. Also, unlike L, he lets his genuine emotions show, and sometimes they overwhelm him. My favorite part of watching Light is how easily he can maneuver around dangerous obstacles brought about by the “good” guys. He can develop detailed plans and execute them efficiently if he is doing them by himself. Light’s biggest downfall was deciding to bring on people to help his cause. I think the writers did a fantastic job with this show and Light.

Ranking my favorite Batman Side-kicks

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog for this week! Last week we talked about Star Wars, but now we’re moving onto BATMAN, or more specifically, batman’s sidekicks. This blog is dedicated to my wonderful older brother, Ethan since he was the one who got me into superheroes in general. To keep this short and enjoyable for you guys, I will only rank my top four. All photos belong to the Wayne Family Adventures comic on Webtoon.

4. Jason Todd (Red Hood)

Since I don’t read many comics, I have only heard about Jason from my brother and the Wayne Family Adventures comic. From those two experiences, I have developed a love-hate relationship with this character and his distinctions from the other sidekicks. One of my favorite differences between him and Batman is that he uses guns, which is a massive no-no for Batman. Due to this little disagreement and a whole battle when Batman went missing, they agreed that Jason could use guns as long as he didn’t kill anyone with them by using rubber bullets. Besides that, I just like his character traits and personality. His hair is pretty cool too.

3. Tim Drake ( Red Robin)

Tim Drake would have been fourth if it wasn’t for the emotional damage that was done to me from Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker, where the Joker brainwashes him and turns him into J.J, also known as Joker Jr. Luckily, he resisted enough to shoot the Joker instead of Batman. After that, he saw a psychiatrist until he was back to himself. Because of this incident, he was no longer allowed to be Robin under Batman, so he became Red Robin. He is also known for genius-level brain power and investigative skills.

2. Dick Grayson (Nightwing)

The original Robin turned individual hero Nightwing is one of my favorite sidekicks to watch. When his family was brutally murdered, just like Bruce Wayne’s, Bruce took him in and started to train him into his first sidekick, Robin. The relationship was good for a while, but as Dick grew older, he became sick of being the one who had to clean the mess with no glory. So he split away from Bruce, using his training as Robin to become Nightwing. He sets his mind on not becoming like Bruce. Though they had some arguments that really impacted Dick, he still helps out Batman when asked to.

1. Damian Wayne (Robin)

The funny thing about Damian is that he started his Robin career under Nightwing, posing as Batman to keep people from freaking out since he was missing at the time. Oh yeah, he is also the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. This makes him unbelievably strong for his age. He grew up trained by the League of Assassins and then also ended up being trained by Batman. My favorite part of this little punk is his attitude and witty comebacks. I also really enjoy how strong he is with such a tiny body, AND HE USES A SWORD. He is very harsh and aggressive on the outside, but there are also some moments where we can see a more vulnerable side of him. For example, in the animated series, he has a little crush on Raven, which causes his emotions to get in the way of his duties sometimes. In the animated series, he also shows a saddening vulnerability when he uses the Lazarus Pit to resurrect Dick. Sadly, though the pit did revive Dick, it left him in a permanently insane state. Due to his instability, Damian had to permanently restrain Dick in a strap-jacket and keep him locked up in a cell for the rest of his life, much to Damian’s sadness. On the bright side, that all gets reversed when The Flash goes back in time and reverses the flashpoint paradox by letting his mother die… maybe that’s not the BRIGHTEST side.

Thank you all for reading this week! I hope you enjoyed and keep an eye out for next week’s blog! <3

My favorite Star Wars characters (Male Edition)

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I’m gonna narrow down my favorite Star Wars male characters to my top four or five. I couldn’t put them into rankings so it’s not in any particular order! Be aware that I am VERY biased on my opinion for these men. Thank you for reading and enjoy!

SPOILER WARNING!!!

Fatherless Behavior: Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren, also known as Ben Solo is one of my favorite characters for so many reasons. One of my favorite parts of his character is how I can take him seriously, yet also make fun of him. For example, I can laugh at him because he always looks like he’s gonna cry but when you think about it he DOES have a lot of reasons to cry. He also has amazing character development. He went from a very… very angry and depressed dude to someone who wants to atone for their actions. They could have done better on the dialogue though.

 Anakin Emowalker

Anakin Skywalker is the original chosen one turned youngling murderer. Yeah, you heard me. Despite his actions his character is just so intriguing to witness because of how different he is than other Jedi. I also agree with his opinion on attachments in the Jedi way. It’s understandable because you’re more likely to fall to the darkside because of this (proven by Anakin himself). I just don’t agree because of emotional reasonings in the next character.

Hot Bucket Head Dad: Din Djarin

THE MANDALORIAN HIMSELF!!! I absolutely LOVE this character. He is so freaking cool in so many ways. Yes, he may not do cool little tricks with his mind but he doesn’t even need those anyways. That’s what’s so cool about him. I also love his character development in his show. He goes from a closed off man only living for the advancement of his creed and the way of the Mandalorians to a fatherly figure to a force-sensitive youngling named Grogu. His armor is also another reason why I love this character. Having something that shiny and that strong surround your body is so much cooler than the Jedi robes we are used to. Spoiler warning: HE HAS THE DARKSABER. How could you possibly get any cooler? Maybe learning how to wield it without burning your leg but we won’t talk about that. All I’m saying here is that this guy is one of the coolest people in the galaxy.

Fluffy Beast Man: Chewie

Finally, we have our fluffy but deadly friend Chewbacca. Even without understanding his language most of the time, we, as the watchers, can form an attachment to this character through Han Solo. I love Chewie because of just how cool he is! He’s super strong, yet his personality doesn’t show that around Han. When he gets shot in the arm, he whines like a child, and I think that that is just really adorable. It gives us a sense of depth in his character traits and personality that I can appreciate. (I feel like I should note that my step-dad can do the Chewie sounds spot on!)

Thank you all for reading this week! I hope you enjoyed! See you next week <3

An (Almost) Complete Timeline Of the Five Nights at Freddy’s Lore. Part Four.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Since this is such a long series, I decided I would do FNAF one week and then something different the next and then rotate with that! Thank you all for reading, and I will start back up right where we left off! AS ALWAYS; content warning.

1988: After murdering his wife, William sank deeper into his insanity and started working on more animatronics to accompany circus baby in his journey to murder more innocent children. This was when he created Funtime Freddy, Ballora (based on his wife), and Funtime Foxy. Without a restaurant or establishment, there would be no way to get children in contact with these animatronics, so William opened up something different. He created an underground facility called Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rentals, where parents or companies could RENT out the animatronics for parties and such. By now, you should already know, but almost all of the animatronics are now possessed by the children who William had murdered. Keep this in mind as the Lore tends to get a little confusing.

1989: William Afton, angry and frustrated with Henry Emily’s success in the new restaurant, snuck in late at night. He sought to destroy the creations that he had helped create. He knew the children were in there still, maybe not their bodies but their souls. After he snuck in, he took a crowbar to the animatronics, freeing the children’s souls from their cages. They were still angry, more than angry. The children’s spirits surrounded William, and it scared him so much he tried to find a way to get them to leave him alone. That’s when he found the spring bonnie suit that he used all those years ago, and he got into it. Due to all the stress and fear, William was sweating his skin off in the suit. If you remember my earlier blogs, you would know that moisture of any kind and the spring lock suit which he wore could not coincide. The spring locks clamped down on his entire body just like it had done his son. He bled to death inside the suit, transferring his soul to inhabit the spring lock suit forever.

1989: The morning after those events, Henry, the establishment owner, entered his restaurant. He found William’s body and decided that karma had gotten to him this time. Not wanting to deal with the press, Henry closed off that room of the establishment and never opened it again.

1993: Many complaints have been coming from the customers and other people outside of the franchise for years. This and many investigative reports into Henry Emily and who he has worked with in the past caused Henry to shut down Freddy’s once again. He lost money quickly and couldn’t afford to keep the place open without any customers. He didn’t have any plans to open any more restaurants or establishments, but there was just one thing that he couldn’t get out of his mind. His deceased daughter, who he believed to be possessing the puppet animatronic. Though, to his surprise, the puppet animatronic was missing. After the prior restaurant shut down, he couldn’t find it. He just figured someone stole it. He tried to forget, but he just couldn’t, so he created the animatronic called Lefty, which looked like a black version of Freddy. Lefty’s whole purpose was to find and capture the puppet so he could either break it and set his daughter’s soul free or keep it in search of his daughter furthermore.

Thank you everyone for reading this week! Keep an eye out for next week as I will be posting something different! Cya!

An (Almost) Complete Timeline of the Five Nights At Freddy’s Lore. Part Three.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Last time we left off on a bit of a cliffhanger. I like to keep you guys interested. So, we’re going to continue the story today after we left off with William Afton finding his next target in the daughter of Henry Emily, Charlotte.

1984: After William decided who was next, he decided how to orchestrate his actions. As I mentioned in my last blog, The puppet/ Marionette is the sole security bot for Charlotte. William knew this and started trying to figure out a way around this. He soon found out that the puppet is dependent on the box it inhabits being open for when it needs to leave to protect Charlotte, so William figured he could put something on top of it to keep the lid closed. After crafting his plan, he put it in motion the next day. He disguised himself and placed a heavy box on top of the puppet’s box. Coincidentally, Charlotte was also trapped outside of the Pizzeria. This was when William would strike, killing charlotte in the alleyway outside of Freddy’s in the rain. He simply leaves afterward. The puppet had been trying to get out of the box this whole time, but when it finally knocked the lid off, it was too late. The puppet found Charlotte, but the heavy rain broke it down quickly. Seeing that its mission had failed, the puppet rested by Charlotte’s body.

1984: After a wonderful high, William was desperate for another, and his eyes were set on the new Pizzeria with the toy animatronics. He figured out a way to get into the place without the alarms setting off; the spring bonnie suit. In that suit, he recreated his first massacre with another five children in this restaurant. Just like the other five children, these most recent ones were given a second chance by being able to possess the new toy animatronics. This is why all the Toy animatronics in FNAF 2 want to get into your office so bad. They want to see if it’s William becoming the nightguard. They want to take their own revenge.

1987: THE BITE OF 87′. You’ve all been waiting for this one. If you’re familiar with the games, you know that in the second FNAF game, there is an animatronic dubbed ‘Mangle.’ This name was given to the animatronic due to its mangled state. The children that often visited the pizzeria weren’t the best at keeping things nice, and every day they would come and tear Mangle to shreds. Eventually, the workers just stopped repairing them. This angered Mangle and the other animatronics. One day, Mangle had been pushed to the breaking point of getting torn up every day and bit down on one of the children’s heads, damaging the frontal lobe seriously. After this incident, all toy animatronics were now scraped due to these “malfunctions.”

1988: After the closing of the previous restaurant, Henry was contacted to create a new restaurant with all new animatronics. He took on the job, but only if he could create the animatronics himself so no other mishaps like William’s could occur. This is where the FNAF 1 animatronics come in. While this is happening, the Afton family is having a tiny itty bitty issue at home. William’s wife is very distraught over the events, trying to force Michael to go with William because she hated them both… but then, she stopped talking. William stabbed her in the stomach, eventually killing her. There are some THEORIES about what happens to Mrs. Afton’s spirit. Some people believe she goes on to possess ballora because of the Afton family dinner scene in the new FNAF game, and some believe that she rests. Either way, she’s dead.

That’s all for this week everyone! Thanks for reading and I will see you next time!

An (almost) Complete Timeline of the Five Nights At Freddy’s Lore. Part Two.

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today we’re just gonna try and pick up where we left off. Okay, so the last thing that we talked about was Elizabeth Afton’s death in 1983. You might be asking yourself, was that the bite of 83? Actually, it wasn’t.

1983: The bite of 83 belongs to Elizabeth’s brother, Evan Afton, also known as the crying child. After Elizabeth’s death, their father, William, tells his other two sons to never visit any animatronics, especially not alone. Evan, like his sister, is stubborn and visits Fredbear’s Diner without his father’s permission. William had knowledge of this, though, and came up with a plan to sway Evan away from the diner. This is kinda where the lore starts getting a bit more on the weird side. With his robotic expertise, William designs little sound illusion discs to hide around Evan’s room which induce nightmares of the animatronics, hoping to scare Evan away from them. He kept going to Fredbear’s, though, each day becoming more afraid than the last. Evan’s older brother Michael had planned for Evan’s birthday to be at FredBear’s Diner, but that wasn’t the only plan he had for his brother. On the day of the party, Michael had brought three friends with him, all wearing animatronic-themed masks. Being the crappy older brother he was, Michael picked Evan up along with the help of his friends and brought him over to the two spring-lock animatronic suits trying to scare him. They all picked Evan up, saying he wanted to give Fredbear a kiss, but then they stuffed Evan’s head and half of his body inside Fredbear’s mouth. Evan cried and shook like crazy as they laughed at him from afar. The thing Michael had no idea could happen was spring lock failures. It was the only downside to the spring-lock suits. If the person wearing the suit moves around too much or creates any type of moisture, like tears or sweat it causes the spring-locks to well, lock back in to the former position. In this case, Fredbear’s normal position would have his mouth closed. This malfunction happened to Evan, causing Fredbear’s mouth to close on him and bite down violently. Thus the bite of 83′ was created. After this, Fredbear’s Diner closed for good, and William’s wife left him, causing his descent into pure madness.

1984: Henry Emily, the former business partner of William Afton, thought for months about how he could save the business. He eventually came to the conclusion of creating a team to further increase the high standards of Fazbear Entertainment. This group of people came up with the new and more friendly-looking “toy” animatronics based on the original ones alongside new and more unique animatronics like balloon boy, while the old ones were put away for parts and service. We visit these in FNAF 2. Now all they needed was security. Henry thought for a while and also used his robot expertise to come up with a facial recognition system used by the animatronics. Henry also has a daughter. Her name is Charlotte, or Charlie for short. Henry needed a way to learn from William’s mistakes. He came up with an idea to keep Charlie safe no matter what. He created the animatronic called Marionette/The Puppet that would specifically look out for her. It stayed in the music box near the prize corner.

Year Unconfirmed: William had heard of the new restaurant with brand new animatronics, but Henry closed him out, making him very mad. William felt as if Henry didn’t understand his loss, so he decided to make him understand. His next target was the one and only daughter of Henry Emily, Charlotte.

That’s all for this week folks. Stay tuned and I’ll see you next week!

An (Almost) Complete Timeline of the Five Night’s At Freddy’s Lore. Part One.

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Thank you for coming back, and today I really just wanted to try something new. If you’re a fan of Five Nights At Freddy’s (fnaf from now on), you would know that a new game just got released, and in celebration of me finishing the game, I just wanted to do a full timeline of the lore and maybe some theories on the way. Please consider that despite my heavy research my dates and details might be ordered wrong and you should feel welcome to correct me in the comments! Content warning as well, there are some pretty dark details here.

Pre-Details:

It all started with a man named William Afton, who seemed like a regular guy on the surface, but below that, he kinda has a thing for killing children. He has a wife and three children. A little girl with green eyes named Elizabeth and two sons named Evan and Michael. He is one-half of a brilliant duo. His partner is named Henry Emily and has a daughter named Charlotte. They came up with an idea. An idea that would change their lives forever.

Beginning of timeline:

1973: Henry and William created a diner with mascot suits created from spring-lock mechanisms. One bear(Fredbear) and one rabbit (spring bonnie.) Business for them was absolutely booming.

Year unestablished: Due to the Fredbear diner’s success, a sister location opened up for the franchise (no, not that one). This time they added some new characters to the roster, including Chica the chicken and Foxy the pirate fox. This is the establishment in the first game. It’s in this establishment where William Afton commits his first murder. Five children were having a birthday party at his pizzeria. To get straight to the point, he brought the kids to the back room of the pizzeria after messing with their minds and murdered them. Then he stuffed them into the animatronic suits. Dark, yeah, I know. This caused the establishment to close down, yet William never got caught. This gave him an idea to make different types of suits. Animatronic suits that would be perfect to fit children’s bodies.

Year unestablished: He then created Circus Baby, who you might know from the actual Sister Location game, with that idea in mind. She had blue eyes, orange hair and was styled after a clown. There was something different about her, though. She was built with a “scooper” inside her stomach which opens to grab and pull the children into her chest cavity. With Baby and other animatronics to come and a conversation with Henry about it, he was able to open a small restaurant on the side called “Afton’s Robotics.”

1983: William’s family would sometimes visit these locations as well. Specifically, William’s daughter Elizabeth was very fond of Circus Baby. William always told Elizabeth not to go near Baby because he knew that she would recognize Elizabeth as a child and was programmed to kill them when alone with them. Regardless of the warning, one day, while William was busy, Elizabeth found herself alone with Baby. A luring tactic Baby was programmed with was the ability to make ice cream, and that’s what she did. Elizabeth got closer to reach for the ice cream, and Baby took the moment and “scooped” Elizabeth into her chest cavity, ultimately killing her. This caused William to shut this restaurant down as well. Circus Baby’s eyes were now green, the color of Elizabeth’s eyes, not blue like her original design. In the game of Sister Location, we get a reciting of these events directly from Baby.

Thank you all for reading this week and keep your eye out for the rest of this series. We will pick back up where we left off in 1983. I believe this is gonna be a long series.

My Top Ten 90s Movies (Part Two.)

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week we’re gonna finish up our 90s movies series! Spoiler alert as always!

5. She’s All That

We’re going to start with a much happier movie. Alright, so we begin the movie with Zach Siler. He’s one of the most popular guys in school, and every guy wants to be him. When his even more popular cheerleader girlfriend decides to break it off, his popularity declines sharply. Desperate to revive his fading reputation, he agrees to a dare of sorts presented to him by Dean Sampson. Now, to prove that he’s got what it takes, he has six weeks to gain the trust of nerdy outcast Laney Boggs and turn her into the school’s next prom queen.

4. The Truman Show

Our main character Truman is the star of a HIT reality TV show, but the twist is that he doesn’t even know it. His whole life is a sham, a live broadcast of Truman’s every move captured by hidden cameras. Though things get a little suspicious as the movie goes on, and Truman gradually discovers the truth. However, he must decide whether to act on it or to continue living in this place of paradise.

3. Sleeping With The Enemy

This one is a little darker and has subject matter dealing with domestic abuse. After our main character Laura fakes her death in order to flee from her violent husband, Martin, she adopts a new identity and starts dating another guy who is seemingly very lovely. Meanwhile, her abusive husband unearths evidence suggesting that she isn’t dead, and when her mother confirms this (he smothers her afterward), he tracks her to Iowa. He finds Laura and Ben and confronts them, forcing her to fight for her life once again. Let me just say that the soundtrack in this movie is fantastic. There’s one song in it that I could pick out so quickly. It just ups the intensity so much.

2. My Girl

I have a love-hate relationship with this movie. It makes me so sad, but then again, it’s such a good movie. Our main character in this film is 11-year old Vada Sultenfuss. She’s a bit different from other kids. Her mother died giving birth to her, and her father operates a funeral service out of their home. Talk about morbid. The other kids think she’s a freak, and it certainly doesn’t help that her best friend, Thomas J. Sennett, is a boy. Vada is desperately in love with her English teacher, to make matters worse. I find it a little weird, but I guess she is only 11 and doesn’t have a mom to guide her. I’m not going to spoil the worst part but just know it’s there and to be prepared for it.

1. 10 Things I Hate About You

GAHHHHH, I could literally watch this movie over and over. The casting and then the story goes so well together. IT HAS HEATH LEDGER IN IT! Anyways, cough cough, um, our main protagonist is Kat Stratford. She’s beautiful, intelligent, and very cruel to most of her fellow teens. She does have a younger, more polite sister named Bianca. Unfortunately for her, their father put a very clever house rule down that says Bianca can’t date until Kat has a boyfriend (and we all know how easy that would be), so some of the other students devise a plan to get Kat to get a boyfriend. First, they struggle to find anyone that would put up with her, even for a lot of money, but they eventually find Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger). That’s as far as I will explain. This movie is just way too good to spoil.

Thank you all for reading this week! Have an amazing Christmas!

My Top Ten Favorite 90s Movies! (Part one.)

Hello everyone! Since you guys seemed to like my previous blog “My Top Ten Favorite 80s Movies” I figured I should just go ahead and do 90s too! I will be excluding horror movies since they would most likely take up a lot of this list. I’m going to try to focus on my favorites to watch and the ones that impacted me the most. Anyways, spoiler alert and lets dive in!

CONTENT WARNING: Some of these films are not the happiest nor do they touch on light subject matter. Reader discretion is advised.

10. Clueless

If you’re a movie lover you already know all about Clueless. Our main character is Cher (Alicia Silverstone.) She is shallow, rich and socially successful, though I find her kind of dumb. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other to help herself get better grades in their classes. Her reasoning was iffy but at least she did something?  Next, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was — and falls for him.

9. American History X

Oh what a transition from Clueless to this… If you watched this movie I am honestly surprised. Our main character here is a neo-Nazi by the name of Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton.) The opening scene shows us how he ends up going to prison after killing two black youths who tried to steal his car. This is how I found out about curb stomping. Honestly, it was very hard for me to watch. Upon his release, Derek vows to change his ways in hopes to prevent his younger brother, Danny (Edward Furlong) from following in his footsteps. I think its funny how their actors have the same first name. Anyways, as he struggles with his own deeply ingrained prejudices and things like that he watches their mother grow sicker, Derek wonders if his family can overcome a lifetime of hate. I definitely recommend this movie. It was so interesting for me to watch. It also impacted me a ton.

8. Boys Don’t Cry

Gah, this one is worse than American History X. Regardless of that this movie stands on its own for so many reasons. Our main character is a ftm transgender man named Brandon Teena (Hilary Swank.) He escapes his hometown under threat when his ex-girlfriend’s brother discovers that he was assigned female at birth. He did not like it at all and started trying to seriously hurt or kill Brandon. Brandon finally in the small town of Falls City, Nebraska, falls for Lana (Chloë Sevigny), an aspiring singer, and begins to plan for their future together without letting her know about his transition. This is where things get bad and I really had to close my eyes. Lana’s ex-convict friends, John (Peter Sarsgaard) and Tom (Brendan Sexton III), learn Brandon’s secret and things change from friendly to violent very quickly. I cried so many times while watching this movie. It was so moving and so incredibly sad. 10/10.

7. The Parent Trap

Back to the lighter movies now. The Parent Trap was one of my absolute favorite movies as a kid. I always wanted to go to the little summer camp where they met. Oh yeah, if you haven’t seen this movie its about twins named Annie and Hallie both played by Lindsey Lohan. They were separated at birth but now have found each other at this summer camp. The funny thing is that their divorced parents are living on opposite sides of the Atlantic, each with one child. After meeting at camp, the twins decide to swap lives so they could get to know their other parent. There’s a montage with a Beatles song behind it which is so fun. They give each other lessons on how to act like the other as well BUT PLOT TWIST, their father is getting engaged and they have to devise a plan to stop it and get their parents back together.

6. Practical Magic

I know I said no horror, which is good because this isn’t a horror movie. I remember the first time I watched this movie. The whole atmosphere of the movie was just so interesting to me. It’s about two witches, Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman), born into a magical family. The story goes on and Gillian the more promiscuous one leaves home and travels around the country going from man to man, but when one of Gillian’s boyfriends, Jimmy Angelov, dies unexpectedly (murdered by sally because he was a douche bag.) During some of the opening scenes of the movie young Sally casts a spell to create a man who doesn’t exist to fall in love with her. She does this after witnessing some dark parts of love which makes her want to never fall in love. After the murder the police start to investigate. Surprisingly we get detective Gary Hallet who looks exactly like the man Sally made a spell for when she was younger. The girls try to escape by using magic, but instead of resurrecting Jimmy, they get something much more dangerous.

My Top Ten Favorite Pokémon Characters. (Part One.)

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blogs! This week we’ll be going into another huge part of my personality and or childhood up-bringing. Pokémon. I can remember playing the games on my DS, collecting cards, stuffed animals, watching the movies, and watching the series too. So, in this blog, I’ll be ranking my favorite characters from the first few seasons/movies and the games. After this I will consider doing my favorite Pokémon if you guys would like that. Anyways, let’s just get started.

10.  Duplica

Duplica is first seen in episode 37 of Indigo League. She is a Ditto trainer who is also a type of magician in a way? She likes to show off her mimicking tricks since that’s what Ditto does. Her ditto can turn into any Pokémon, but for some reason it cannot figure out the eyes. It always has the same eyes. This is where Ash and his friends come in and try to help after meeting them and fighting with Team Rocket.

9. Gary Oak (Indigo League)

A lot of people don’t like Gary, grandson of Professor Oak. Though he is very cocky and full of himself, I find it funny. It’s enjoyable to see the rivalry between him and Ash. It always gives us something to work for in the show and also adds a comedic aspect with his little posse of cheerleaders that follow him around.

8. Team Rocket

I think that Team Rocket is actually a fan favorite. I find them so funny in a way that you would look at a newborn puppy trying to climb up stairs. They show up in almost every episode and are the main ‘antagonists’ in the series. They also have a talking Meowth that adds another aspect of comedy. They are just so enjoyable to watch.

7. Dawn

Dawn is the female lead in the Sinnoh region season. I absolutely love dawn. She’s very independent and witty, but also goofy when she fails at something. She is different from Ash in the way that she wants to train Pokémon. Ash wants to be a Pokémon master, and Dawn wants to be a famous pageant winner. Her Piplup (shown in the picture) is also one of my favorite Pokémon of the season because of its personality. It’s very enjoyable to watch.

6. Ash (Indigo League)

Ash is the main character in all of the seasons. I love him the most in this season because he’s a new trainer and the dynamic and character development between him and his Pikachu. His ambition and the fact that he still has a lot to learn make the show work in my opinion. He is different from other trainers in this way. He has a deep deep love for every Pokémon he owns. My favorite episode is the one where he finds the abandoned Charmander and decides to rescue him.

Thank you so much for reading this week! Keep an eye out for next week’s part, it will have more characters from the games too! Make sure to leave a comment and let me know who your favorite Pokémon characters are!
