Just talking

Just talking

Okay so I don’t know what to talk about in this blog for real. So let me start by saying thanks for the advice on my last blog. It means a lot to me and y’all were right I need to chill and take time to myself and go out with friends, once aging thanks y’all so much nothing but love and I can see that. Let’s see what I can talk about?? Hmm! I don’t know y’all I’m out of ideas. I didn’t think it would be this hard to write about something but dang this is hard for me. When I say I just looked at the computer and just thinking, I couldn’t think of anything.

I guess I can just about my week last week.  I had fun a lot of fun, especially with Madison. As always, we walked around, did TikTok’s, listened to music, had our own little party, and took my hair down. Well, she tried to help lol.  Madison is basically my best friend/sister every day we get closer and closer, and I know for a fact I can trust her. We do everything together like everything!!

I know when summer comes around, I’ll miss my girl. She is so funny, kind, smart, and beautiful she can always make me smile when I’m upset. I can truly say that she’s someone that came into my life when I didn’t know how things would go when I got here.

The funny thing about our relationship is we act just alike for real. If I would have a twin, she would be my twin for real. She is for sure a sister I would love to have around. I’m not go lie when I first saw Madison, I thought she was mean, I thought she looked cool and all, but she really looked mean lol.

But yea I love my Madison, anyway that’s my blog for this week. I didn’t know what to talk about, but I tried, until next week ttyl!!

Ghosts!

This week I’ll be talking about ANOTHER one of my favorite shows. Seems like I have a bit of a streak going haha!! This time there’s more comedy than hurt, but as always with the things I enjoy, there’s some hurt. I mean, the name of the show is ghosts of course there’s going to be some sad bits! It’s dead people!!

There are two versions of Ghosts, and I’ll be talking about the BETTER version, which is the original British series created by comedy acting troop ThemThere. There is an American version, and after the first few seasons it comes into its own and is a good series, but at first it’s just not as good because it’s copying the main series practically line by line with a twist of explaining the joke.

Ghosts follows Allison and Mike Cooper as Allison inherits a very old, very dilapidated, and very haunted mansion out in the country. The cast of the main ghosts present are, in order of death: Robin, a caveman struck my lightening; Humphrey, man beheaded accidentally; Mary, a woman burned at the stake because of accusations of witchcraft; Kitty, a Rococo woman who died to causes covered in season five of the series; Thomas, a poet who bled to death after being shot in the abdomen; The Captain, a WWII Captain that we know little to nothing of prior to his death up until season 5; Fanny or Lady Button, a Edwardian woman who was pushed from her window; Pat, a boy scout leader that was shot in the neck with an arrow; and Julian, a man who had a heart attack while cheating on his wife at a political event.

It’s a bit hard to tell, but headless Humphrey and Robin (bottom right) are played by the same actor and are the closest in time of death!! The actors for Robin/Humphrey, Thomas, The Captain, Fanny, Pat, and Julian are part of the previously mentioned acting troop ThemThere. They had a start of acting as people from different periods as they were on an educational children’s series that aired from 2009-2014 called Horrible Histories (Unrelated, but one time when I was very very sick and a bit delirious, children’s shows like HH were the only things I could watch because I would start getting a migraine if I thought to hard. I was speaking in a British accent for like two hours). ThemThere created another historical based series named Bill, which follows the life of William Shakespeare, and a fantasy series named Yonderland.

I haven’t talked much about the episodes in detail or a series synopsis in this blog post because it’s a really good show I don’t want to spoil!! With Takin’ over the Asylum and The Walking Dead, they’ve been out long enough for spoilers on certain bits being practically unavoidable, but with Ghosts it’s pretty easy to assume that most readers of this know nothing about the original series.

My favorite episodes for each season have to be “Carpe Diem” in season 5, “Speak as ye Choose” in season 4, “The Woodworm Men” in season 3 (followed close by “Something to Share?”), “Redding Weddy” in season 2 (Followed close by “Perfect Day”), and “Getting Out” in season 1. To be honest, most of these episodes follow The Captain or he has a big impact on the episode. He may be my favorite a bit, but I just fall to love the trope of a cold closed off character coming into their own. The way he acts around the other ghosts and the people in season 1 when Allison and Mike first get to Button house, their mansion, compared to “Carpe Diem” in season 5 are so drastic and beautiful. Of course, other characters change such as Fanny’s brashness or Julian’s sexualization and sexist-ness towards others, but The Captain is the one who changes the most out of all.

Okay that’s definitely enough for this week. I will be talking more about my favorite episodes at a later date, but for now this is my signing off. Have a good day, ByeBye!!

Tim Burton

Due to the season of fall almost being upon us and Halloween fast approaching, I would like to talk about one of my favorite film makers and artists: Tim Burton. Tim burton is an amazing filmmaker; he often directs movies and shows in the gothic horror and dark fantasy realm. Some of his more popular works include Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Frankenweenie. His latest work was the Netflix show Wednesday, a spin-off of the Addams Family.

Tim burton started filmmaking at a young age. He started in 1985. He became known for a very particular style which combined gothic style, dark fantasy, and specific feelings of macabre quirkiness and eccentricity. He doesn’t just film make or direct. He also draws and imagines these ideas before anything is ever put into motion. He has a very specific artistic view and wants everything a certain way. He also has a very loyal crew.

His films usually consist of the same actors; once he finds someone that sees his artistic visions and portrays them in the way he wishes then he sticks with them. Some examples of this are Jonny Depp, Helena Bonham, and Danny Elfman (who does almost all the soundtracks for the films).

Tim Burton has a very blunt personality and due to this he can come across mean and stern at times, but he is really just saying what he thinks and feels. Artists must be truly authentic and real; this is something I think he accomplishes well. He speaks his mind. He doesn’t really care what others think about him or his style. This is what makes his art even better because he is the only one who can see his artistic vision.

Tim Burton is the type of artist that makes masterpieces but it takes him ages to  do projects. His last thing before the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie was the movie Dumbo in 2019 and he worked on the music videos Bones and Here with me for the band The Killers. He wasn’t really heard from a lot from the period between 2019 and 2022. He works in waves. Kind of like hibernation.

Another thing that is very interesting about Tim Burton is how diverse his selection of films are. His first movie was Pee-wee’s Big Adventure which is very off brand for him. It wasn’t very dark and it a comedy. I have never personally seen this film but it surprised me that he was a part of this film. Another film I was shocked to hear he worked on was a few of the Batman movies. It makes sense but i just wouldn’t have put the two together. He also worked on Mars Attacks and Planet of the Apes (2001).

My favorite Films by Tim Burton are hard to choose but i do have a list.

  1. All of his earlier short films, (most of which you can find on YouTube). My favorite is a film called Vincent (1982)
  2. Alice in wonderland (2009)
  3. Sweeney Todd:The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
  4. Corpse Bride (2005)
  5. Beetlejuice ( 1988)
  6. Charlie and the Chocolate factory (2005)
  7. Edward Scissorhands (1990)

Now this list is of the movies I have seen and I love all of these movies so so much but i ranked them by which are my favorites to the ones I just like.

Recently he has announced he is working on a new project. He said it will be an animated film. I’m really excited for this new release and the possibilities of what it could be. Me personally, I would love to see a film linking The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenweenie, and Corpse Bride together, making it a full story. It’s been rumored that the stories are all connected. I do think that if he stays true to his later projects I will be happy with what ever he produces and can’t wait to see it. What are you hoping the new film will be about ?

The Path, Wicther Lore part 1. The life of a Witcher.

If you remember in my first blog that I said I was currently collecting all the books, well I still am. So since the books slowly ease into the Witcher Three, the best “lore” I can give you is background knowledge on who he is, what he is, what he does, and all other characters related to him.

Who and What is Geralt of Rivia?

As you have heard me explain time and time again, Geralt is a hunter monster/humans. Taking on various contracts from his travels or also known as The Path. Where young witchers graduate from their selected schools and finally fly solo after gruesome years of rigorous and very deadly training. Often  times a lot of people ask how they first become a Witcher or how they arrive to the schools in the first place.

Geralt, like many other young boys, were either taken or GIVEN to the passing Witchers masters who had graduated their latest trained Witchers to find the new generation train. Before Geralt’s time, the Witcher recruitment was not ideal. On many occasions it wasn’t up to the families whether or not they get to keep their son, they simply would take him and if the boys parents got in the way they’d not hesitate homicide and take the boy.

This is what lead to the ruining of the Witcher brand. Anyone who was  Witcher was seen as an immediate killer and shunned by the populace of city’s and small towns but are smiled upon if they’re really doing their jobs and not lying for coin..sadly there were some who did this…. What’s even worse, is that those families who were murdered, and if their son became a Witcher, it was more likely for that boy to do the same to another family.

How Geralt became a Witcher starts as a boy. Actually, he wasn’t taken as boy but given to the Witchers within the mountain fortress Kaer Morhen (care-more-hen) The witchers home to the School of the Wolf where he would train along side many other boys under the teachings of the great Witcher Vesemir. Vesemir wasn’t the typical, stoic Witcher, but a more humorous one at that. He had his moments though.

Vesemir taught these boys traditionally and in his own way. The two “brothers” Geralt trained beside were Lambert and Eskel. (I’d put pictures but my laptops acting up rn-)

Vesemir would become a well respected father figure to those who’ve read the Witcher books and definitely played the games. The relationship he has with these three boys was as deep as it emotionally could get. And I mean that literally.

The process in which takes place from boy to Witcher is an extremely dangerous one if not done correctly or if the boy is too weak enough. The brutal and very life threatening training these boys go through is not for nothing. The mutation completely alters the anatomy and biology of the young kids as well as emotionally.

Witchers loose their emotions almost entirely. Or so some thought. Geralt’s really a compassionate guy, he is a step-father after all. (That’s for part 2 tho.)

Witchers are also STERILE meaning they cant have biological children and uhm…for Geralt’s case that’s a good thing…

Geralt’s overall past is pretty well hidden behind closed doors for me right now because I am DYING to read the books so bad but I don’t have them all yet!!!!

Its sad times ladies and gentlemen…sad times…

A Killer Nurse

So, this week’s blog post is going to be a bit different from the weeks prior. I am going to tell all of you reading about a True Crime Case that I happen to find very tragic and that floats around in the back of my mind. Please sit back and try to relax while I tell you about Chester Hospital and it’s “Killer Nurse”.

Lucy Letby is a thirty-five-year-old former neonatal nurse and a serial killer. In August of 2023, Letby was convicted of murdering seven infants and the attempted murders of seven others. It is likely this killer has murdered or assaulted many more infants. Letby would go about her crimes by giving the infants too much insulin, ripping out their breathing tubes, or injecting air bubbles into their bloodstream.

Colleagues, before Letby had been convicted, reportedly called her an “angel of death.” This is because every time Letby was on shift, an infant would suddenly get sick. It didn’t matter if the infant had been doing well, getting stronger, or was strong already. When Letby was near no infant was safe.

While Letby was still working at Chester Hospital she was also known as a bit of a nightmare. Letby was one of those goody-two-shoes who “wanted to do her job and yours too”. During her time there Letby began to obsess over a married doctor, who during trial was referred to as Doctor A. It is a theory that Letby’s motive to kill these innocent babies was to gain Doctor A’s attention and sympathy. Pathetic right?

There were rumors that Chester Hospital was haunted, or cursed, due to the number of infants dying. There were theories that the water was tainted. Come to find out the reason behind all the lives of the Nicu babies being cut short, was one evil woman. It’s truly terrifying to think that the people who hold the lives of the most vulnerable people could be like Lucy Letby. It makes you wonder if there are others and they just haven’t been caught yet? If there were others and they got away with it? Horrifying, don’t you think?

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you all would like me to continue writing about true crime cases it’d be cool if you’d let me know. Have a wonderful day, and if you’d like to learn more about this case, I suggest Stephanie Soo’s “Rotten Mango” podcast. You can find It on YouTube or Spotify.

How To?

Now that we are about a month and a half into school, which is crazy. Now this is the time some of us start questing things. “How to manage my time? How to join clubs and stay up to date on work? How to budget my money? How to apply for collage?” How, that’s the question that roams around a lot as we start, to get worried about what is next to come. Life like to throw a lot at us, and we don’t know how to answer these questions or get really overwhelmed trying to balance it all, well, I’m here to help you figure a little bit of those things out as we take a deeper look on how.

How to? Thats the question that children, teens, young adults, and elderly ask themself throughout the day often. Whether it is, “how to go down the slide, how to solve this equation, or even how to turn the remote on?” Many questions I’m going to help with someone of the one teenager and young adults struggle within today’s world.

When I asked a few students from all different schools most of them had the same or simar answers to this question that was asked “How do you manage your time?” Almost all these students said their best way to manage time and stay early on their work was to “find an open window during breaks to do work when you get done early with other work.” Another response I got a lot was blocking out a certain hour each day to just do schoolwork and if something comes up at that hour let them know you have plains to get in the habit of blocking it out.

The question about budging money, I know for teenagers in the world today that is hard question to ask yourself so let’s break it down. Think about all the little things you spend your money on daily, fast food, posters, games, consoles, makeup, and so much more. When shopping look at the prices of what you buy because there might actually be a cheaper item that’s the same. So, we could eat in more and have money put aside for fun. Making a saving account can help out a lot when you get money put a little but in your saving for example if I get 20 dollars a month’s maybe put 5 bucks in it or even more! You will notice over time it will start to increase. The way I do it is when I get my money, I have a partition that automatically goes into my saving. If you use cash put some in a separate spot in your wallet.

Last but not least for today, there so many in this world. We will talk about “How to apply to college.” Appling for college is not as scary as everyone puts it out to be. Yes, it could be nerve racking at first but the prosses is not horrible. Let’s start with the very basics looking up the college’s website. Thats about the easiest, to see what we need to get for this college. A lot of colleges require you to have taken the ACT so check to see about that, if the college you are applying for requires an essay, most do, but again some don’t depend on where you want to go get that done. When completed with that fill out the online application, get recommendations letters, pay the application fee if the school you are applying to has one. Now we have done all this we will send over our transcript to the colleges we are applying for. This is the moreover every school is different, but this is the basic over of “How to apply to college.”

Adjusting:

So, it’s been a bit over a month since I moved into MSA. I worked so hard to get here, and here’s my honest opinion about it.

1.) I love the staff here. The staff feels like family. The teachers make you feel seen, everyone up to the cafeteria ladies. I love them all, and honestly, they push me to be myself.

2.) Academics are SERIOUS here. At my old school we were a very close environment. Everyone knew everyone, and the teachers were bound to know your family somehow. This seems like a good thing; however, it caused the academics to lack. Skipping was a common activity, sleeping in class was normal. The teachers were sweet about it, causing the students to continue failing classes, and skipping. Since I moved here, I realized my potential, and how far I can get if I take academics seriously, as well as the different color plans.

3.) MSA has truly introduced me to some of the best people I’ve ever met. Tristyn, Nick, Robin, Clare, Ladybug, and David, are just a few examples. I’ve never been around this many peers that truly want to support me in my arts. All of my friends are seriously the sweetest people ever, and they are all very dedicated to their work. If you guys are reading this, I love y’all more than anything.

4.) Dorms, dorms, dorms. Living in the dorms has its ups and downs. Pros: I’m around my friends all the time, I get to sleep in till 7, I can always come up to my dorm if I forget anything, gets me ready for college. Cons: I hate cleaning, I miss having my own space sometimes (love my roommate and sweet-mates tho,) SO COLD with the brick walls, I can hear EVERYTHING from the boys floor because of the vents. Overall the dorms are such an amazing experience, but there are some things that make me miss my home a little more than usual. Also, I miss my friends and family so much! For reference, I live 4 hours away.

5.) I love going out here. The walking path gives us so much freedom, while still making sure we are safe, which I love. I walk to different places every day almost, which is so fun. I always have something to do when I’m bored, as well as the many different activities on campus. The pizza here…..!

6.) Clubs! There are so many clubs and extracurricular activities here, as well as many chances for community service hours. The only club related problem I have, is the fact that i cant try out for colorguard till senior year. Man I want to do colorguard. I mean I still do it in my free time, but I wish I could be on a team with actual performances.

Well, in conclusion, Mississippi School of the Arts truly IS the place to be.  It feels so great to be a phoenix, it just comes with extreme concentration and dedication.

Greek vs. Roman Mythology

Okay, I lied. I said in my last blog post that I was going to continue my incoherent ramblings about Katara and Avatar: The Last Airbender as a whole, but I’ve decided that i need to get something out of the way instead, which is how i feel about Greek Mythology and Roman Mythology.

Anyone who’s had more than one conversation with me might be aware of how passionate I get over a certain empire, which starts with R and ends with oman. I’ve been known to yell, hit things, stand in chairs, and leave groupchats in the past. Is it that serious? No. Do i care? Also no!!

(There is, quite literally, a running gag between my friends to randomly text me “The Romans” and watch to see how mad I get — it has been described as a trigger word of mine multiple times)

Roman Mythology and Greek Mythology are often used interchangeably, like they are counterparts or equals. Now, do not get me wrong. Roman mythology (though i know nothing about it besides the creation myth) is just as complex, but in the end, they ARE separate things. This is just information off of the top of my head, mostly from my understanding of greek mythology and how it differs from roman mythology in those big ways that MEAN something. Even though they were adjacent (watch me make myself mad) they are NOT the same, most importantly in how they portray certain gods.

Am i going to start talking about myths? No! I dont know anything about them, and if i refuse to learn more than what is absolutely necessary (Read: I’m too lazy.) I do, however, know about the pantheon itself.

The Greek pantheon was very heavily focused on “Hey, you guys are messed up, but we’re MORE messed up, so be scared of us.” The Greeks, with what their pantheon represented, was very arts and emotions focused. They interpret things like hubris, defiance against the gods, lust, ect. Hubris is a big one, most commonly portrayed with Achillies. He believed that he could live, and deny the fate which was set out for him, if he avoided following his whole prophecy “ur gonna die bro” thing. The gods didn’t like that!!

The greeks were very insistent on their idea of fate, which is what most myths follow. Gods deliver a prophecy, the guy who’s the butt of the joke in the prophecy tries to avoid prophecy, ends up butt of the joke. (Seriously, you think they’d stop warning them, right?)

The romans are different. Extremely different. Again, this is my throwaway “here’s what i think 🤓☝️!!!” because i admit that i do not know that much about roman mythology, entirely because it makes me so upset. Many myths from Greek times are so Romanized we get left with our current version of Medusa, who, in the original myth, was born a gorgon. Or Achillies, who, in his original myth, never had invulnerability. He was just quick yall..

The romans were very victory, war, order and rule-based, rather than the emotional and theatrical Greeks. This is best portrayed by their goddess of love, Venus. She represented, obviously, love; beauty; prosperity; fertility; and VICTORY. She also mothered Aeneas, who is a direct ancestor of the founders of rome. Romans held her in such a high regard because of this. They had a goddess literally named victory and they still worshiped her and prayed to her in hopes of a victory in battle. Her greek counterpart(??? cousin. They’re cousins now.) Her greek cousin, Aphrodite, more so represents Beauty, (beauty over love, that’s important) Love, PLEASURE, and procreation. See how those differ? Similar, but important differences.

None of this is even mentioning MYCENEAN Greece (dear gods, Mycenean Greece :/) which had nearly *checks notes* 600 years of a nearly entirely different pantheon that the Classical greek pantheon is based on, plus those 200 or so years of the greek dark ages? There’s just so much more rich, complex history behind the greek pantheon. And, yes, the romans were heavily influenced; And, yes, they carry a lot of similarities. However, the romans were after, with influence from more places than the greeks had. It’s kind of like when you take a character from a show and change him so much that he’s pretty much an OC now and you could write your own story with it and no one would ever notice.

Okay, this is getting long but i am also talking about my special interest (greek mythology) and my special dislike (roman mythology) and i haven’t gotten up and screamed from the rooftops yet, so i’m doing better than i normally would. She’s getting long, so i’ll see you next week!!!! I will (likely) either be speaking on the same topic or going back to Avatar.. undecided. Kiss kiss!! Byee!!

Disability and Media

Here today we talk about disability, how it is portrayed in the media, and why we should care.

While July is the official Disability Awareness Month, disabilities affect people all months of year, and we need to talk about it. Especially the representation in the media of people with different disabilities. Or shall I say, the lack thereof.

The disabled Flag represents the different types of disabilities and shows pride and support for those with disabilities.

Disabilities are varied and wide spectrum. We have broad categories for them, being physical, sensory, developmental, and psychiatric. Physical disabilities affect your mobility or motor functions. Cerebral Palsy, spinal injuries, and arthritis are common examples of physical disabilities. Developmental disabilities, like intellectual disability or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, affect cognitive functions, especially at a younger age. Psychiatric disorders are psychological conditions, like PTSD or bipolar or OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Though these can get tricky, as the way they debilitate a person is not very well documented or taken seriously. Neurological disabilities affect the brain and nervous system, like a traumatic brain injury. Neurodevelopmental disabilities are commonly represented by ADHD and ADD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder). Finally, we have sensory and learning disabilities. Sensory disorders consist of a disability that affects some sort of sense, such as blindness or deafness. Learning disorders, like dyslexia (reading difficulties) and dyscalculia (math difficulties) affect your learning process.

We’d think that, if we have so many different types of disabilities and disorders, we would have a better understanding of and acceptance towards disabled people. Unfortunately, due to negative stereotypes and ableist history, we still have so many misconceptions about those who are disabled. For example, not everyone who uses a wheelchair is paraplegic. While the statistics are inconclusive currently, it has been reported that up to 1/3 of wheelchair users are ambulatory. This means they still can move and walk with less assistance. Another misconception is that people who use canes or walkers are old, or that you can only develop physical disabilities later in life. Disabilities can be developed at any time in one’s life, and mobility aids can be needed at any point. So why do we depict disabilities as this rare, scary, and sad thing?

That’s another thing. The extreme depictions of disabilities. Either people who are disabled are depicted as hopeless and wish they weren’t disabled, or they’re a superhero and an inspiration. We are normal people. We have our good days, and our bad ones. We shouldn’t be reduced to one emotion because we are people with a wide and diverse variety of emotions. Or the extremities of psychiatric disorders. People with schizophrenia are considered dangerous and “insane”, people with bipolar disorder are “unstable and something you should fear”, or OCD is being the “neat freak”. These depictions are useless at best and harmful at worst because these disorders are a spectrum. We do not all depict disabilities the same way, just as no two people are alike. We need to start depicting disabled people and characters as what they are: people.

Thank you, FreePik, for the image

It also sucks, as someone who uses mobility aids, to have little to no accessibility in your daily life. Schools have barely any accommodation, and if they do have the occasional wheelchair ramp, it’s on the other side of the school. So, it gets to a point where it feels like the 1950s, where folks with mobility issues need to be “hidden from public view”. But with all systemic issues, the rights and support for people with disabilities are still new. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed in 1990 by President Bush. That’s only 34 years ago. So, architecture and medical information are still outdated and unavailable to people with disabilities. That’s also not to mention the discrimination against queer, afab, and people of color in disability spaces.

Disability affects about 1 in 6 people. Whether it be in the mind, body, or both, we all deserve respect and accommodation for our disabilities. We deserve to feel safe and comfortable in our bodies and shouldn’t be treated like we’re incompetent or a burden. Disabled people are still people and deserve to access quality medical care. So what could you do to help people around you with disabilities? The best thing you can do is ask what help they need. It can be nice to help them put something away or offer advice, but you need to always ask what would make the disabled person feel most welcome. If you’re holding events, please try to make them accessible. If someone has sensory disorders, make sure to add accommodations so they can experience everything too. I think people often think we want “special treatment”, but in reality, we want what everyone else wants: to be able to function and enjoy life.

Just remember that, if someone around you is disabled, treat them with respect and kindness. Treat others how you want to be treated, and please, for the love of God, do not push wheelchairs without asking.

The Nostalgia of Warrior Cats

For so many people (me included), Warrior Cats wasn’t just a series—it was a gateway into imagination, friendships, and character writing. Whether discovered on a library shelf or passed along by a friend, the series left a mark on so many across around the world. Looking back, the nostalgia of Warrior Cats is about more than the cats that run. It’s about the experience of growing up with them.

Opening the first book, Into the Wild, felt like stepping into a completely new world hidden within the ordinary forest. The idea that cats could have clans, rules, leaders, and destinies made the real world itself make more sense. I remember reading late at night under the covers, sneaking in just one more chapter, desperate to know what would happen to our orane main character or who would die next.

Beyond the stories, Warrior Cats was a huge community. Online forums, fan fiction, roleplay, and fan art were everywhere you looked. For countless readers, creating their own original characters and imagining new clan adventures was just as exciting as reading the books. It was one of the first fandom experiences I experienced, teaching me how to collaborate, share, and create in a world that felt like my own. That creative outlet is a huge reason why I am the writer i am now.

Focusing back in on the books, Warrior Cats never shied away from serious themes—loss, loyalty, betrayal, and hope. Characters died, friendships fell apart, leaders made hard decisions, and young cats had to grow up quickly due to war. For young readers such as myself, these stories were some of their first introductions to complex emotions and moral choices. Looking back, those moments hit differently now, but the lessons they carried stick with me.

Rereading the series today feels like visiting old friends. The names—Firestar, Graystripe, Bluestar, Tallstar  (Best character)—bring back a flood of memories. Even the familiar maps of the forest or the rules of the Warrior Code feel comforting, like revisiting a childhood neighborhood. It’s not just about cats in clans; it’s about remembering a time in life when the world felt bigger and every story carried endless possibilities.

The nostalgia of Warrior Cats lives on because it was more than just a set of books. It was an era of exploration, creativity, and connection for me and many others. For those who grew up with the series, flipping through its pages today is like stepping back into the forest—a reminder of who we were, and how far we’ve come.

There WILL be a blog on “Tallstar’s Revenge” at SOME point because how can i NOT talk about the best character and most GAY cat.
