The Witcher: the BEASTIARY and CRAFTINGS (game related)

As I said I would, I’m covering some more of the basics when it comes to The Witcher more specifically to the GAME I’m having to write notes on the lore right now to figure out how to summarize it, it’s very similar to the show Arcane for having multiple stories in one big world.)

WARNING:

I’m very appreciative of some of the comments left about wanting to read The Witcher books but I must warn you, these books are not the typical book. It’s a hard read with very vivid graphic imagery of A LOT OF adult content, so if you’re one to get squeamish when it comes to guts, blood, sex, drinking, death, sometimes sexism, it’s not for you. SOME BOOKS WILL NOT ALWAYS BE GERALT BASED. ITS A BIG WORLD.

The same can be said about the game. Giving you actual real time scenery of what is going on. (Admittedly for it to still be considered content appropriate, the game does censor some of the more intimate scenes with even a skip button, however violence and killing in the game, beasts and other humans is mandatory for the plot. Sorry, can’t skip that and you will get graphic, small, in game, quick cutscenes. A common one being a quick decapitation if fighting a human or lesser monster.)

I would absolutely love to explain more of the books to you, however even I am in the process of still reading these books. (I’ve read the first one like 3 times because I’m trying to buy them all in the same cover.) I can however tell you LOTS about the games!

Being a very late fan into the Witcher most of the previous game (1 and 2) are unavailable to me so Instead I already have the Witcher Three: The Wild Hunt.

YOU NEED TO KNOW THESE FOR THE GAME:

I, when I was about 12 years old when I played this game, I was amazed at so much thought and detail went into the game but most importantly I loved the BEASTIARY and CRAFTING/BLACKSMITHING so much because I found them out SO LATE! (I had the same armor through the entire game and was dying VERY easily, lol)

This above is the BEASTIARY!

If you can’t tell what that is above, that my friend is a Fiend. Kinda looks like a Wendigo, doesn’t it? Well, what if I told you the wendigo and another beast called a Leshen were actually pretty similar?

Figuring this, can you guess what the BEASTIARY is?

If you guessed a journal or logbook for certain beasts and magical entities or races (including people) then you’d be correct.

The BEASTIARY is a perfect dictionary of sorts that helps you identify your creature you are hunting. Its lore, where it comes from, if it has similar brethren in different regions, what its weak to, using oils, silver, steel and what sign you must use.

Brief Sign disclosure: Its Witcher magic (will be covered in the lore blog sometime soon, not the next.)

If you look up “Bestiary Witcher 3”, a wide variety of images will show you different entities under their respective races recorded section.

A lot of these drop-down menus show you what they are

For example:

Beasts:

wolf,

wild dog,

bear

etc.

Necromancers:

Ghouls,

Alghouls

etc.

So on, so forth.

Now again, you wanna pay attention to the small image of the fiend at the top. Refer to the small three or 4 boxes at the bottom of its figure, that’s where you will find its vulnerabilities!

CRAFTING/BLACKSMITHING:

oh boy the one thing YOU DEFINETLY WILL HAVE TO DO PROGRESSILVLY throughout the game. Guys…your swords can dull and break! PAY THEM HEED!’ so will your armor!

It is important that you keep an eye on your screen when you see a small diagram pop up on the left-hand side with red armor or swords. Thats an indicator that your equipment is very weak! (Id show you but there no picture found)

So instead, you’ll need this: A repair kit(s)

(One will usually do it; that’s just the quantity of how many this person has.)

These can be found or bought in local cities or found out in the open world.

Its kinda small and I’m sorry but below is the crafting menu:

This is where you will make your potions, oils, bombs, fabrics and other materials for your travels. Diagrams you collect on your journey (aka The Path) will aid you in discovering new items and essentials to crafting new armor or swords. YOU WILL NEED TO DO THIS!

Do not be like 12-year-old me way back when and though that your weak little swords and armor will last you, IT WON’T!

Trade, craft, go to a blacksmith (it’s a very similar menu like the one above) This is a very slice of life game, you HAVE to play this game like you’re desperately trying to survive.

With your (hopefully new or restored) armor and weapons you will need to go out and deliberately slice and dice monsters or harvest plants. The tutorial in the game walks you through this phase.

What it doesn’t always tell you is that if you have a sort of Alcohol in your inventory, Dwarven spirit, then your health potion once you craft it: Swallow, will regenerate once you meditate.

Meditating is a key factor in resting and regenerating health, magic, toxicity, stamina, and health items/oils.

To think these are the basics is quite the stretch since I learned these so late! So, if you decide to play the game (Available on ps4-psf5, Xbox one, Xbox series s-x, PC or Nintendo switch) you now know ahead of time to know what to look out for. Sometime people forget things, so I hope this blog was helpful if you ever forget a key detail on your Path.

(Preferably, when looking for the game look for the one labeled COMPLETE EDITION you get the full pack of DLC’s and extra equipment to hunt and I wouldn’t recommend PS4 or Nintendo switch cause sometimes issues will occur frequently, meaning you may burn/overheat your console.)

THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING, Its long yet necessary for game depth. And I only covered two factors, next will be navigations of the map, menus, and level differences and gaging, contracts/treasure hunts and currency. Yeah…

The plan:

Next Wednesday, 9/3/25: Menus and levels.

The Wednesday after, 9/10/25: Map nav and Bounty/treasure/currency.

9/17/25: Meat and potatoes of the Lore (AROUND GERALT!)

The game itself can tell you lore about what’s going on with the world, hence why it’s an open world adventure for a reason.

(I won’t be stuck on the Witcher for too much longer.)

A Game of Thrones

Welcome back to my blog, I hope everyone reading is doing well. If you couldn’t tell by the title today’s topic is Game of Thrones. To my knowledge it’s a very popular series, the show being a bit more popular than the books. Don’t quote me on that I don’t know for sure. Anyways yesterday I went to the library and checked it out. My cousin Jordan is a big fan of Game of Thrones, like a really big fan. She’s a big enough fan to buy themed charms for her pandora bracelet. From her talking about it (and seeing edits on TikTok) I gradually got interested. So, I’ll let y’all know how I feel about when I finish the book or maybe a few chapters in or maybe I won’t talk about it again at all. We’ll just have to see.

I’ll tell you what I know about Game of Thrones going into it. There is an extensive family tree, a lot of people with white hair, death, dragons, swords, and there’s a lot of really messed up traumatizing stuff that happens to basically every single character. I know that there’s braids, that too. Please wish me luck with my reading journey and possibly watching journey if I ever get HBO. There’s a lot of books for me to through, and if the books are any good, I might even join the fandom alongside my cousin.

I think Daenerys will be my favorite character, mostly because she’s played by Emilia Clarke and I love Emilia Clarke. She’s one of my favorite British people, along with Emma Watson. Has anyone reading this read or watched Game of Thrones? If so let me know and tell me what you thought about it.

I really want to watch some more edits of the show, but I feel like if I do that, I’m totally going to get spoiled. Not even just watching edits, I feel like if I look up anything regarding the show or the book on social media, I’m automatically going to get spoiled.

I heard that there’s also new spin offs being made so maybe I’ll check those out. I don’t know who the new spin-offs follow. To be completely honest I don’t really even know who Game of Thrones follows. Is it all about Daenerys or is she just a fan favorite? I reckon I’ll be figuring it out soon, once I open the book.

Thank you for reading this week’s blog post and please do return to listen to me yap.

Best Places to Travel

Hey y’all, it’s Lydia here. Flying in to be your guide to travel, with just a little bit of chaos. Sit down, and grab your wallet, because after this blog you’re going to be wishing you booked a plane ticket sooner. This week, we are going to take a deeper dive into all the best places to travel. Some of the places we are going to look at are what the majorly of the population think is the best. While some I just think are what I think is the best! But with the holidays coming they will be here before we know it, so let’s find the place to visit this break!

Let’s Jump on in, or should I say dive since we’re headed to an island, on in with the best places to travel to! We’re going to start with my personal favorite place Bali, Indonesia. Okay so I may be biased because I was born here, but it’s a great place. So now let’s take a deeper dive into why I think y’all should travel here. It’s literally an island what can’t you do. You have a whole ocean, many waterfalls to explore, you can go diving, explore the temples, visit a mask gallery, they even have a monkey forest sanctuary! Theres endless things to do in Bali from relaxing on the beach with their crystal-clear water with gorgeous views, to playing with monkeys. Bali has it all from relaxation to an adventurous time depending on what you’re going for now let’s dive into my next travel place!

Bali, Indonesia

Next up, we got such a great place to tour, you might not want to come home after booking a ticket. Soaking in the sun, getting a taste of street food, evening bike tours, visiting temples, floating markets, and its nightlife. If you couldn’t have guessed it already, we are coming in hot with Bangkok, Thailand. Now let’s break now the great stuff we can do in Bangkok. Let’s get a bigger idea of what we would do if we traveled here. Now we can jump on into talking about the temple. There is actually more to it than just looking at the outside if it! You can go to many of the temples, they do have some guidelines you need to follow, but the temples are so pretty and definitely worth the trip. Before we wrap this paragraph up let’s talk about the floating markets. A floating market is exactly what it sounds like locals will have fresh produce of a boat on the water.  That would be a great place to explore if you visit Bangkok, Thailand.

Floating Market https://pin.it/3pPs2iXvB

Last but not least, it’s a place I have never been to personally, but the people say it’s the best place to visit. So, let’s hype it up, and explore together! This is the one and only Swiss Alps which is located in the southern part of Switzerland. What do they have your probably asking? Well, they have what looks to be the calming feeling, alpine mountains, green hillsides, river landscapes, shimmering lakes, wintertime skiing, and summertime hiking. It’s a gorgeous fairytale, makes me want to go visit. Swiss Alps also does passes you can get to get a train rid to tour around, see their lovely scenic views, their magical place.

That concludes our travel plains this week hope y’all come back next week for our next adventure!

Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest

This is my long-awaited Curious George post.

If you know me in real life, you know I am obsessed with Curious George. I own 3 Curious George DVD’s, one of them being Curious George: A Halloween BooFest.

Guys trust me, this is a PEAK Halloween movie. Like it doesn’t matter what kind of movies you like, scary, romantic, action, you will LOVE AHBF.

I mean a close runner up is Hocus Pocus, but that’s for another blog. So, the first thing I want to point out about this movie, is how fire the soundtrack is. If you’re looking for an amazing Halloween song, listen to “Kinda Sorta Haunted House.”

I also think it’s so cute how George looks up to The Man in the Yellow Hat for being “brave.” When he feels like he can’t do something because of fear, he just thinks about The Man fighting the No Noggin costume and how he keeps going even when he’s scared.

Also, I love how the whole objective of the movie is to find No Noggin a new head, and how it keeps us guessing if No Noggin is even real. After being disproved over and over, there’s always new evidence t0 show that it might be real. Like I said, George goes through with helping No Noggin to prevent people from losing their hats, even when he’s scared of him.

Now something I need opinions on, how do we feel about The Man in the Yellow Hat having a name. In the original show and books, he didn’t have a name, and it was something for us to kind of interpret. Well in the Curious George film, (2006) he is referred to as Ted. We later find out his full name is Theodore “Ted” Shackleford.

I honestly don’t like that he was given a name in the film. I feel like it would have been better to slowly drop it in the show, yet in the show he is still referred to as “The Man.” I don’t know that’s just my opinion.

Which I mean I get it since the film shows him before he met George, but I just think it’s confusing for people who have either not watched the film or have not watched the show.

Well anyways, that was my little post about Curious George. Expect a part 2 about the 2006 film in the near future.

Cya next week, thanks for reading. <3.

“My hometown is more than a memory

It’s a childhood.

It’s a safe space.

It’s an era.”

bismuth

in season 3 ep 24 of steven universe steven travels inside lion and finds bismuth- as masculine blacksmith ready to lay her life down for the revolution. now this is why I don’t like her character.

bismuth character was focused on war and destruction, or she was rather blinded by it, I guess. she wanted to do whatever it took to kill the diamonds even if that meant killing other gems and of course rose happily agreed but deep-down rose knew she couldn’t let her do that because Suprise she was a diamond herself. killing one diamond would not be enough they needed to kill all of them. the writers made it seem as if that was bismuth whole character was made to be this bloodthirsty monster. she even built breaking point to shatter the diamonds.  bismuth attacked steven believing it was rose attempting to stop her mission once more, leading to her being bubbled, fortunately in the episode “made of honor” she gets unbubbled and talked to properly where steven explains rose quarts = pink diamond. honestly, they should’ve bought back other gems and let us hear their “war” stories too.

bismuth was and probably still is suffering from ptsd from the war. now she has a family willing to fight for her as she will for them. I don’t like how her character is shown in the show, but the episode overall was in my opinion meant to represent ptsd in people who go to wars, or people who are still grieving. she now resided in little home world as a blacksmith; she and many other characters might appear in lar’s new show.

do y’all like bismuths character?

what do you think about her design?

Katara: A Character Study

Katara: A Character Study (Likely pt. 1)

It is 12:47am on 8/25/25 and I am exactly 16:00 minutes into “The Avatar Returns” from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I had an entire blog post typed up about Katara and her character and how some choices made by writers and how they chose to continue her story in later series (Ex: The Legend of Korra) doesn’t make sense with where they took her development in the original series. That, however, was lost between the three computers I’ve signed in on because my Microsoft account hates me, so I’m restarting. This is gonna get really (really) hypothetical and I’m gonna sound insane, but I chugged a monster from like 3pm to 4pm and im not sleeping until at least tomorrow night and I have things to say about pretty girl. (Correction: I fell asleep at 2:45)

Katara is the last waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe, which (allegedly) used to be much bigger, much more lively, and much better as a whole before the hundred-year war began. That, however, kind of a little bit, was not the case in the state we find the Southern Water Tribe. The state we find her in is a few tents, a shoddy wall made of packed ice, and a (likely) hastily built watch tower with poor structural integrity. The Southern Water Tribe is made up of women and young children, the only “suitable” warrior being a 16 year old motherless boy with an ego issue. So, honestly, not a lot. A far cry from the assumed prestige one of the two water tribes may have had, especially considering how it is seen in the next series and compared to the Northern Water Tribe. I don’t care to explain the tribe in further detail, so I’m going to carry on with my study.

The southern water tribe | Water tribe, Avatar world, Avatar the last ...

Before

after

The story follows along with brother and sister Sokka, the 16 year old with an ego issue, and Katara after they discover a boy frozen in an iceberg. In the first episode this boy, Aang, is revealed to be destined to save the world or.. something. Don’t ask me, I’ve only seen it four (five-ish) times.

In the first episode Katara, who is the voice narrating the opening, is set up very early to have a major supporting role within the show. (Since this is not a summary of the show as a whole, I’m going to not talk about the show anymore or else I will be renaming this blog to “How Avatar: The Last Airbender is a cinematic masterpiece and can do no wrong.”) Katara is depicted as dominantly motherly throughout the series, but she is also warm, deeply responsible, stubborn with a deep desire to be independet, and overall compassionate.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" The Painted Lady (TV Episode 2007) - IMDb(Not at all bringing up later characterizations throughout the series, where she becomes so fiercely protective of team avatar, even vengeful at some point. Pictured above is her dressed as The Painted Lady, arguably one of her most compassionate moments throughout the series)

Katara, set up from the very beginning is more compasionate than Sokka. He’s expressed as paranoid, misogynistic, self-absorbed, practical – overall someone, upon first meeting, you’d assume is pretty reasonable. I, however, would not trust him with my drink. Not like he’d do anything bad but he’d straight forget who’s drink it was and chug it on his own. He’s stubborn, he’s selfish, out for his own self-interest, and a few other words I may not be able to post to my blog. Compassion, if i had to name HER character trait, would be the first thing to come to mind.

She takes the place of her mother at such a young age, essentially becoming that in Sokka’s eyes. There are dozens of times that she puts someone else before herself, even if she’s being manipulated or believes she can’t do it. She is single-handedly holding team avatar together in the desert. And, hear me out, just like waterbending.Woah!! Danny’s pointing out something they don’t shut up about in the show (they never bring it up in THIS series, let me cook (the kitchen is burning))!!” I can go on forever about how each of the benders and even non-benders have a personality that perfectly represents them and their bending technique… so I will!! That’s why I have a blog!! (Look out for me yelling about how scrappy and resourceful Sokka is in like a week or so)

Waterbending is very insistent on the ebb and flow of things. Two fish circling each other, Yin and Yang, pushing and pulling, high tide and low tide, even the moon and the waves. They’re all waterbending, all the original sources of it. Humans were taught waterbending by the moon, inspired by the way she pushed and pulled at the ocean. This sounds peaceful, but where there is good there must be something disruptive. This is perfectly displayed in Katara’s character, because just like she is motherly and helpful and compassionate she’s also got a temper, she’s stubborn, and she’s determined. I sound insane. Don’t make me backtrack again, decent outline danny. (Little does no outline danny know, decent outline danny is rocking back and forth, waiting to be let out of circus jail. He will not be let out of circus jail. Why am I talking to myself???)

Tui and La : r/TheLastAirbender

Waterbending is dependent on grabbing energy and not so much controlling it but shifting it. Thinks something similar to a scale, like the one lady justice holds. You want the water to go here so you shift your entire body with it, right? Kind of like a literal push and pull. Anyone who’s seen The Northern Water Tribe parts 1 & 2 know what I’m talking about. If you don’t just nod and pretend you do. The fact Katara is a waterbender does shape her personality, just like it does with Toph and Aang, and even the fact that Sokka isnt a bender. She reasons but, ultimately, chooses her emotions over rational or “i can’t do it” thoughts.

There are two events where i think Katara shows the most compassion, and all three relate to Firebenders. She hates firebenders. One killed her mother and she believes them, for a long time, to be the cause of all of her problems. (which.. yeah) But she still recognizes when people need help. She, as the painted lady, aids a village of sickly and starving fire nation civilians by liberating them from a nearby metals factory. This threw them off by days, could have made them late, and they barely even had the supplies to feed themselves; however, people needed her help and she couldn’t abandon them.

The next event is when she, wracked by grief over her late mother, searches for and finds the fire nation officer who killed her with the help of zuko. That’s a whole other story for a whole other blog post, but in the end she decides to spare his life.

The Best Katara Fights In 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'

Okay, I’m getting off track. I’m also getting to long. I’m going to end this here and leave my actually organized notes on the benders and how their personalities are in relation to that for next week. Hmmmm. Hmmmmmm. Hmmmmm. (This got deleted halfway though writing it and only like half of it got saved so this is gibberish and I’m SO sorry)

I’m going to try and break up any further blogs on her into arcs, even if it’s just an arc explored over a single episode (Jet, for example) then probably follow it with my favs in order (SOKKA THEN ZUKO RAAAAGGHHHHH)

Muse- Showbiz : A album analysis Part 2

Showbiz album review PT.2!

5.Showbiz

The Title Track! Thats always how you know it’s going to be good. This song explores the suffocating pressure of expectation and conformity in said showbiz though it can also be seen as normal life pressure. This song specifically critiques the false personas forced upon artists and others. The song goes from calm and mellow and slowly builds up to explosive shouts then finally uncontrolled high-pitched shouts which reflect both personal struggles and a broader commentary on fame’s agonizing reality. Its rawness makes it one of the most defining tracks Muse has ever made and is in my top 3 of their songs.

6.Unintended’

The most out of place song on the album, this song never gets rough or in too heavy electric unlike the others, it’s mostly acoustic which builds its soft feeling like the calm before the storm. It’s almost like the song wasn’t intended for this album, haha wink wink. The song centers on love’s UNINTENDED arrival, its lyrics capture the bittersweet discovery of intimacy. “I be there as soon as I can” exposes how something can be unplanned yet deeply meaningful.

7.Uno

The title being “Uno” aka One already sets up the theme for this song…LONLINESS. Everyone’s favorite thing! Anyway, this song talks about some sort of lost relationship that has the speaker convincing themself that “You’re still nothing to me and this is nothing to me” even as they fantasize about what could have been, “We could have had so much fun”. The song continues to explore cynicism in relationships and a loss of innocence, portraying connection not as salvation but as suffocation. Muse’s intensity makes this bleak subject memorable.

  1. Sober

Again, another song title that gives away theme. In “Sober,” Muse confronts themes of addiction, temptation, and destructive escapism. The lyrics suggest a toxic cycle of indulgence, regret, and dependence. The struggle drags on in every chorus as the speaker counts on a “solid” thing. The object of addiction isn’t directly stated but I like that as you can leave it to your own interpretation. The repeated yearning for control contrasts with the inability to break free. The track stays overall gloomy and panicked like a whirlpool that you cant swim out of.

Alright! Thats the end of Part 2 of my showbiz review! We’re almost done with this forgotten masterpiece, part 3 will be the FINAL part.

Nirvana series: Bleach Deep Dive.

This series of blog posts is about the instrumentation behind All four of Nirvanas albums the three studio albums in Bleach, Never mind and In Utero and the compilation album Incestiscide and depending on the reception of the series Unplugged will get a nod.

So starting off with Bleach (1988-1990) the Lineup of this era of Nirvana featured Guitarist Jason Everman and Backup singer Drummer Chad Channing ( and ocassionally Dale Crover of The Melvins) Bassist Krist Novosleic and Frontmand lead guitarist and Singer Kurt Cobain. Oddly Jason Everman doesn’t actually appear once on Bleach he paid for the production of the album thus getting him a writers credit. The trio of Kurt Krist and Dale Crover would hit the studio in late 1988 to start work on Bleach with producer Jack Endino the songs Downer, Papercuts and Floyd The Barber would be completed and though a attempt to rerecord with Chad came about the three ultimately decided to leave Dales original tracks as is. Every other song has Chad Channing in full force playing away. The odd sound of Bleach comes from the cheap recording style. The band was taped on a eight track and played every song live overdubbing in the post stages (which Kurt hated with a passion). The setup for Bleach’s studio recording is as follows: Track one Chads Kick Drum Track two his snare and hi hat recorded on a overhead mic track three his floor tom track four a mic for his tom 1 drum. Track five was Krists bass and mic up of his bass. Track Six was Kurts vocal then track seven was Kurts guitar and track eight was free for either one vocal or guitar overdub.

So as you can see Bleach had a troubling process to begin with but that didn’t deture the artistry of the group. The opening track “Blew” A more sludge Sludge metal take with the growly low distorted bass and aggressive guitar dives creates a song that invokes a sense of violence almost. Plus Chad Channing delivers a impressive triplet groove that slides around the kit and makes it really poppy. Eventually when Dave Grohl took over his power filled this song out live. The second song on the album is “Floyd the Barber” based on Floyd Lawton from the extremely popular Andy Grififth Show giving a darker take on the character. The song details Kurt walking into a barbershop expecting a haircut only to be subsequently tortured and murdered. “Floyd The Barber” instrumentally is dark and gritty Dale Crover of The Melvins recorded this song and gives a strong almost tribal beat paired with the harsh distortion and harmonic breaks mostly added and fixed in post by producer Jack Endino. Krists bass takes a lower seat holding a more funk inspired groove that Jack Endino would spruce up on the back end. “About a girl” Kurts beattle song was slower cleaner song about Kurts current long time girlfriend Tracy Mirander the song uses a true less is more approach. The lyrics are memorable digestable and feature a couple of recording quirks Kurt used a vocal overdub that usaully would have been a double track of his main guitar. “ School” is a noise rock song through and through the guitar over dub is strong on this one and pops out over the main track at times.

“Love Buzz” is the best noisy song on this album it has a explosion on sound at points with Kurt and Krists tuned up a half step the guitar scratches and yells at you with the nice instrumental pause to let the frantic low baritone vocals of Kurt Cobain just creep at you before a long scream of pure pleasure. A BUZZING sound is heard on the main guitar track as Kurt uses his boss ds-1 one a distortion sound box that creates a fuzzy banshee effect when turned up to the proper settings. Overall I’m buzzing with love over this track its quintessential Nirvana. You ever like hurt your hand on a piece of printer paper that weirdly shallow yet deep cut that stings even longer. Well if not you can listen to “Paper Cuts” this track is heavy dark gloomy and scratchy it fits a certain aura that is just the right amount of painful noisy rock mixed with a slight cleanliness of production plus Dale Crover leads a hard and powerful drum track for the ages. Kurt did overdub with a feedback noise with his guitar close to his amp. Its on to the B side of the album.

“Negative Creep” is sliding friendly full of powerful bass line Krist layed down fits the groove and pocket of Chad Channing plus a vocal overdub was instituted to help flesh out the singing. “Scoff” is just that a scoff in your face as it isn’t my favorite song yes it is a deep cut but its not my favorite. I do enjoy the snare floor tom eigth note grove but beyond that it loses flavor. “Swap Meet” is loud and noisy and required a few reruns to get it right but I love it and the few live versions were pretty good. The next song on the list is “Mr. Moustache” which is very very difficult to play as a guitarist. The song is captivatingly confusing and the drum part is winding the the count on the ride seemingly switches with the snare at points.  “Sifting” is slow and sludgey and possibly the most sludge metal song on the album. The drop tuned guitars and high tom centered groove on the drums add a large amount of punch and the bass line is amazingly good it is five minutes though so it runs kind of long eith some repitition. “Big Cheese” is a pop metal song at its heart the faster jumpy fill based drums and long ride cymbal bell taps add a lot to the song. The final song from the original 1989 Bleach release is downer and last is definetely not least. By far the shortes song is a pretty good representation of future Nirvana ( so is “About a girl”) which leads it to be a  good listen and this song was only recorded in three takes with Dale Crover drumming.

Overall Bleach is good my top listens are.

Kpop demon hunter

K-pop demon hunter was one of the best movie I ever watched.  I’m not a big fan of K-pop stuff but baby when I say this movie had me on my feet! It was sooo good like real good. They songs was to good. I love that song “Golden” It was a good song and I feel like a lot of people can kind of relate to it.  I love they song Free as well, who am I kidding, I love all the songs! I never thought I would get into K-pop music until I watched this.

Let me get more into the songs!! So like I said at first, Free!!! OMG!!! Free is so good like I can listen to that song so many times and not get tired of it. Free is really about how they wanna be free from the demon side of them. They even say how they feel when they can talk to each other through out the song. Then we have “Your Idol” When I say they ate that song up. It was the song they use to get all the people to come so they can get they soul. But guess who came just in time to save everybody. YEP RUMI!! She sang ” this is what it sounds like and girlllllllll!!! When Zoey and Mira came in with singing,  then they all just came together was the best. That song is what saved every body and I see why.

My favorite person was Rumi. I can relate to Rumi, and I think other people. can too. She was having a hard time but still did what was best for her people. she felt like she had to change for her friends and thought they wouldn’t look at her the same or love her if they found out she was a half demon. She tried to fix everything on her on and still tried to help save the world. Even after she thought she could trust Jinu, He turned his back on her but still end up saving her to make it up.

During the movie it show the women that took care of Rumi. The women made Rumi hide her patterns when she was little and always felt like that was the best thing to do at the time. When Rumi friends saw it she went to the women who took care of here and explode wit anger and sadness.

After Zoey and Mira saw Rumi patters, they made her run off. They thought Rumi was a bad person but even then, Rumi still saved everybody. This movie was a 10/10 for real, like when I say this movie had me on my feet then the vocals when they song had me like WHAT! Now I watched this two times, and I already know the songs that’s crazy. But I would say if you haven’t watched this amazing movie, WATCH IT ASAP!!!

Okay that’s is for this week blog thx for reading😁💕

My inevitable Brokeback Mountain post

Hello everyone!! Second post and I’m already talking about Brokeback. If you know anything about me, you know it’s my favorite movie. I’ve been collecting memorabilia for about a year now and I’ve been a huge fan for two years. I’ve seen the movie seven times (once in theaters during the 20-year anniversary showing during June), I own four physical copies of Brokeback DVDs, one book, and a movie poster, the ones that advertise they have the movie in theaters, from 2005 that has never been folded or anything. The poster is my most prized possessions because of how important Brokeback is to me. After all this, please trust that I know what I’m talking about on the subject of Brokeback Mountain.

Every time I have invited someone to watch Brokeback with me, I have been met with at least one “well, isn’t that movie just a gay porn movie?” NO. To reduce a part of queer history to “porn” is one of the worst things you could say about it. The movie isn’t focused on what Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar are doing in bed on those fishing trips. What it’s about is two queer men trying to live their lives without getting murdered for who they are. It’s about the people in their lives that end up also getting hurt because of how closed off they have to be because of the time period they live in.

One of the most important parts of Brokeback Mountain to me is the fact that Jack and Ennis are not held on a pedestal for cheating on their wives. Ennis, portrayed by Heath Ledger, marries Alma, a woman he barely knows, at the age of 19. During their time together, Ennis cheats on Alma multiple times with Jack up on Brokeback. Alma finds out and the pair get divorced. Afterwards, Alma feels discomfort around Ennis and during Thanksgiving she tells Ennis she knew the whole time. Ennis lashes out violently really homing in on the fact that he was and will stay the bad person in that situation. Jack isn’t innocent either, he cheats on his wife Laureen with Ennis. They never divorce, but their love falls away into just staying for the tractor selling business they inherited from Laureen’s father.

Jack only wanted love from Ennis. He wanted the pair of them to live together and always be there for one another. Ennis says no because of fears that ended up being correct in the end. Ennis loved Jack a little too late, and Jack loved Ennis way too long. Ennis let his fears hold him back, and that saved his life, but what was the point? After Jack’s death he lives in a trailer alone with no one visiting him other than his eldest daughter. The ending isn’t happy, but it’s not bad either. It’s realistic for someone like him. If the ending was idealistic and let them live on Jack’s farm together, it wouldn’t have been as impactful.

The ending is abrupt and heartbreaking, and that’s such a core point of the story. It’s not meant to be happy, it’s not meant to be something heart-warming. It’s meant to be a hand waving in your face yelling “hey this is what happened, sorry not sorry!” It wouldn’t be as impactful if it just ended with a positive light. It would frame Jack and Ennis as good people and their wives as villains for “holding them back” when that was never the case. Their story is so delicate and the decisions the writers made were the right ones.

For anyone who hasn’t seen Brokeback Mountain, I didn’t even really scratch the surface of the plot. If you’re interested, please watch it. If you have a DVD player at home, I’ll let you borrow one of my copies! I think that’s enough for now, Bye Bye!!
