To Pimp A Butterfly Pt.2

Kendrick Lamar Album Cover, Kendrick Lamar Lyrics, Chicanas Tattoo ...

9. Momma = 4:43

“Until I realized I didn’t know sh*t”

The song begins with Kendrick talking about his success. He knows all the things he accomplished, and he even says, “This feelin’ is brought to you by adrenaline and good rap.” Everything he has done brought him success but it also back home and he is glad about that. He says, “I would say it got me get a plaque, but what’s better than that? The fact it brought me back home.” Kendrick then goes on to talk about everything he knows, which is everything. He knows himself and mortality; he knows the streets, religion, and politics. It goes on for a very long time, and as we know Kendrick is very educated so it may be true that he knows all these things to some extent, but he ends his knowledge with saying he realized he knew nothing when he returned home which means he is acknowledging that if he knows everything it means nothing without his home. In verse 3 Kendrick begins talking about a little boy he met in South African that resembled him when he was younger. This relates him to him returning home to Compton, showing how he was still connected to the people around him despite being away for a while. The boy says, “Kendrick you do know my language/You just forgot because of what public schools had painted.”

10. Hood Politics = 4:52

“They give us guns and drugs, call us thugs”

This song begins with Dr. Dre portraying one of Kendrick’s old friends who have been left on voicemail. The voice is laughing at him over becoming a rapper telling him, “Don’t tell me they got you on some weirdo rap sh*t. No socks and skinny jeans.” A lot of Kendrick’s friends growing up weren’t used to his new lifestyle since he couldn’t talk with them daily and most of them took offense to this behavior. Kendrick starts the chorus by calling everything boo-boo (the funniest thing ever to me). He’s been A1 since day 1 and everyone else and boo-boo! He goes on for bit naming things, but the main focus of this song are “politics” of the hood/rap, with Kendrick saying he doesn’t care about these politics despite being a very political person. He speaks on gangs/cliques who fight with others about different neighborhoods. He even talked about the LAPD saying, “The LAPD gamblin’, scramblin’, football numbers sladerin’.” Which is rereferring to certain scandals they have been in and tried to cover up. “Football numbers” refers to a term being served in prison. Kendrick also says, “From Compton to Congress/Demo-Crips and Re-Blood-icans”, Which talks about how some officials talk down on these communities despite being a big part in communities being separated and being against one another. He also references the book “DemoCRIPS and ReBLOODlicans: No More Gangs in Government” that was written by Jesse Ventura, who was a former Minnesota governor about how certain places are marked certain colors (red and blue mainly), which seems like it’s separated as a gang territory. Kendrick uses this allusion to point out hypocrisy in some government officials. The poem continues in this song, “But that didn’t stop survivors’ guilt/Going back and forth/Trying to convince myself the stripes I earned/Or maybe how A-1 my foundation was/But while my loved ones was fighting a continuous war/Back in the city/I was entering a new one.”

11. How Much a Dollar Cost = 4:21

“My selfishness is what got me here”

Kendrick starts this song by saying, “How much a dollar really cost? /The question is detrimental, paralyzin’ my thoughts.” Kendrick is pondering the actual worth of a dollar, but this entire song is Kendrick questioning his moral because he introduces us to a homeless man asking him for a dollar. Kendrick refuses to give it to him, assuming that he’ll be using it for drugs despite the homeless man begging for the money to have food. The man also starts to convince Kendrick he doesn’t want the money for drugs saying, “My son, temptation is one thing I’ve defeated. Listen to me, I want a single bill from you. Nothin’ less, nothin’ more.” Kendrick even goes on to tell the man he doesn’t have it despite just buying gas. We’re at a gas station! The chorus is sung by James Fauntleroy in the perspective of God, saying, “It’s more to feed your mind/Water, sun and love, the one you love/All you need, the air you breathe” This voice is telling us that life itself is worth more than a singular dollar, and these things are really all you should need in your life. The homeless man is in disbelief over Kendrick not giving him the singular dollar he had asked for, and Kendrick begins angry as he wonders why this man is so upset with him. He even says, “Until I could see/ A reason why he was mad, a stranger like I was supposed to save him/Like I’m the reason he’s homeless and askin’ me for a favor.” Kendrick is infuriated with this man, even saying that he was being guilt tripped by him. He begins telling the man he needs it all and that he has nothing to give out to him, even calling him a bum. SO, the big reveal comes as the man says, “Known the truth, it’ll set you free. You’re looking at the Messiah, the son of Jehovah, the Higher Power/And I’ll tell you just how much a dollar cost/The price of having a spot in Heaven, embrace your loss, I am God.” This tears Kendrick apart the next line being, “I wash my hands, I said my grace, what more do you want from me?” His selfishness caused him his spot in Heaven.

12. Complexion (A Zulu Love) = 4:23

“I made a flower for you outta cotton”

This song starts off by saying, “Complexion don’t mean a thing (It’s a Zulu love).” In this song it talks about the color of your skin and how that shouldn’t dictate the type of person you are. Zulu love is relating to the Zulu philosophy which translates to “human kindness” or “humanness”. In verse 1 Kendrick starts off saying, “Dark as the midnight hour or bright as the mornin’ sun.” Then he goes on to say that he doesn’t care about anyone’s complexion, and it also refers to how many different colors African Americans can be despite all being Black people. In the next line Kendrick talks about being snuck into a window by a White girl who he gave a flower made of cotton to, and he tells her he’s “ten toes down/even if master listenin’, cover your ears, he ’bout to mention complexion.” Kendrick is infatuated with this girl and doesn’t want “master” to stick the idea of racism into her head. Later in the song Kendrick introduces Rapsody who wrote her own verse for this song. She talks about complexion and how darker Black Americans usually feel inferior to those around them, she even says, “Light don’t mean you smart, bein’ dark don’t mean you stupid.” She ends her verse saying, “Black as brown, hazelnut, cinnamon, black tea/And it’s all beautiful to me/Call your brothers magnificent, call all the sisters queens/We all on the same team, blues and pirus, know colors ain’t a thing.” The song ends on a sad note with Kendrick saying, “Barefoot babies with no care/Teenage gun toters that don’t play fair, should I get out the car? /I don’t see Compton, I see something much worse/The land of the landminds, the hell that’s on earth.” This elaborates on the communities that have been formed with people holding hate against one another and oneself, and people being fearful in their own neighborhoods, usually young teenagers.

13. The Blacker the Berry = 5:28

“All them say we doomed from the start cah we Black.”

Kendrick starts this song off with a monologue about everything being black., but the background vocals say, “They want us to bow/Down on our knees/And pray to the God/We don’t believe.” It’s speaking of how a lot of people want African Americans to submit in this modern society despite suffering for so long. Kendrick goes on to say, “I own black, I own everything black.” which is him saying that African Americans deserve more than what has been giving to them. In the first verse Kendrick calls himself, “the biggest hypocrite of 2015” and says, “Once I finish this, witnesses will convey just what I mean.” SO, we will come back to that line at the end. Kendrick says that he’s been feeling this way since he was sixteen, that America never liked Black Americans despite the actions made to give us more freedom. He says, “You never liked us anyway, f*ck your friendship, I meant it.” Kendrick even lists characteristic stereotypes of Black Americans saying that his hair is nappy and his nose is round and wide. He turns to the audience speaking to us saying, “You hate me, don’t you? /You hate my people, your plan is to terminate my culture.” Kendrick even calls himself a “proud monkey,” which is him taking a word used against Black Americans to reclaim as his own. He even talks about how he was born during the Reagan era, addressing this by saying, “You sabotage my community, makin’ a killin’/You made me a killer.” And this addresses how drugs were put into impoverished areas and led to many killings, that Kendrick had witnessed himself. The line, “The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice” alludes to The Blacker the Berry: A Novel of Negro Life written by Wallace Thurman during the Harlem Renaissance. It’s simply a positive affirmation to darker African Americans, but Kendrick ends this pre-chorus saying, “The blacker the berry, the bigger I shoot.” which alludes to a darker skinned person being more likely to get hurt due to their skin color. In the Chorus, Kendrick gets Assassin to sing where he talks about being treated as lower due to being Black. He says, “How you no see the whip, left scars ‘pon me back/But now we have a big whip parked ‘pon the block.” Which talks about luxury, but this American dream of materialism is another form of oppression. At the end Kendrick talks about Zulu and Xhosa, two of the biggest tribes in South America, who might go to war which reminds him of gangs in Compton. He accepts that it doesn’t matter if he likes to preach with the Panthers, referring the Black Panther party. Or say that Marcus Garvey has all the answers, the man who supported the “Back to Africa” movement saying that all Black Americans should get on a boat and sail back home. He says he tries to celebrate February like it’s his birthday, and eat watermelon, chicken, and drink Kool-Aid on the weekdays, or jump as high as Michael Jorden. He just goes on about stereotypical things that he wants to enjoy, but he ends the song saying. “So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street /When gang-banging make me kill a n- blacker than me? / Hypocrite.”

This is getting kinda long, and I actually want people to read this, so I will save the other songs for another blog. Oopsie!!

Accepting Change

My plan for my last blog was to finish my “To Pimp A Butterfly” trilogy and send you all off with a little goodbye to my junior year lol, but I wasn’t able to because I underestimated how much time we actually had left. Spoiler alert, the last three songs of that album are very important. It ends on the note of acceptance, self-love, and dedication. So, now that I am unable to, I decided to just be a little personal on this one. My blogs are never really about me, but things that I enjoy or remember, and I am glad that I found that consistent theme, but that isn’t the point of this.

Coming to MSA may have been the biggest change but best decision of my entire life. Though I’ve had my ups and downs, I have lived more this year than I have my entire life. I’ve never felt like a teenager before. I’ve spent so many of my years envious of other kids who got to live the life I wanted, but that isn’t the point either. The point is that I came here and really lived. I’ve lost friends and made friends, and I’ve begun to find myself because I’ve never really known myself. So, the one thing I was doing while experiencing this euphoria, is plan my summer.

I think I’ve been planning my summer since November, and when I got my car those plans actually came into play. My summer has been a thing that changes all the time last second, and I really wanted to do something different this year. I plan to get a tattoo for my birthday, and it’ll be a jellyfish cause they’re so cool, and they stand for transformation and healing! I’ll have my party in my hometown with all my new friends before I leave the state to stay with my grandma. I planned to go to comic con for the first time, but I probably won’t have time sighh. I want to get a job at the mall and meet new people. In all of my years of going back and forth between home and my grandma’s house, I’ve never had any real friends there, so of course I choose almost last minute to do that lol.

These have been the thoughts that keep me going through the year when everything gets to be too much. I think of what my senior year will be like when I see new juniors navigating their way around here. It’ll be different to be the senior, and it’ll be different to see so many people I know just gone and replaced with others. I also think about my senior year and being surrounded by my bestest friends once again. It almost makes me sad to imagine that we’ll be apart for so long. But it makes me happy that these random people that I talked to one day are so much more important to me now and it makes me excited to meet new people soon!

I want to stay optimistic and keep my head held up high as I experience the changes of going from not only a junior to senior, but a 16-year-old to a 17-year-old. I just found out I was the youngest of most of my friends and it makes me so scared to hear my friends talk about how much different it is to transition between ages. Growing up is the most terrifying thing in my life. And I remember being so much younger and being ecstatic about being an adult, and now I’m almost there and I just wanna go back. But I try to think of it like this: It’s my last year as a child, and I want to live it like it’s the last days of my life.

I know this seems very dramatic for just the end of junior year, I mean I’ll be here again in about two months, but I guess it’s the thoughts of moving onto a different phase in my life that’s getting me more than anything.

I hope someone can read this and feel a little bit better if you’re as scared of change as I am, and I hope that everyone has a fantastic summer.

To Pimp A Butterfly Pt. 1

Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly Is Now The Number 1 Ranked Album ...

To Pimp A Butterfly has been on repeat in my headphones for almost a month. This album evokes so many emotions out of me whether it be negative or positive. Kendrick is a lyrical genius, and I will always stand by that. This is an activist album that holds many themes of race, oppression, and the experience of being a Black person. The song has 16 songs, so I will be doing 8 in this blog and make a second with the other 8!

1. Wesley’s Theory = 4:47

“Anything, see, my name is Uncle Sam, I’m your dog”

Wesley’s Theory describes how racist American institutions owned by White supremist exploit Black creators for profit. This song starts off by saying that every Black person is a star. It also gives some reference to the album title saying, “When the four corners of this cocoon collide/You’ll slip through the cracks, hoping that you’ll survive/Gather your wind, take a deep look inside/Are you really who they idolize to pimp a butterfly?” The name of the album is something that I’ll come back to on the second part of this blog because it’s not truly addressed until the last song. This song talks about a guy who likes a girl but eventually just lets lust take over that love. This girl is a metaphor for the rap game, since Kendrick addresses in this album that artists are enticed by being in this industry. In this song Kendrick is portrayed as a stereotypical rapper with no education and what not. Dr. Dre is in this song and gives a talk about how you have to keep your head in the game, and you cannot lose sight of yourself. In Verse 2 of this song Kendrick talks about a house and a car, forty acres and a mule, a piano, a guitar. These words are spoken by Uncle Sam who is enticing him to live a material life. Forty Acres and a mule, which Kendrick mentions often in this album, is reference to how African Americans were promised this as compensation for slavery after they were freed.

2. For Free? – Interlude = 2:10

“I picked cotton that made you rich”

This is a very explicit song, but this is like slam poetry I think… The song starts with a woman dogging on this guy for being a bum pretty much, and I think the woman is symbolization for the US because at the end of the song she says, “I’ma get my Uncle Sam to f*ck you up/You ain’t not king”. Kendrick raps about slavery in this, and how Black people had to do so much for free with nothing back in return. He is standing up to the fact that we deserve more than what we are given. He mentions once again, “I need forty acres and a mule/Not a forty ounce and a Pitbull” which references what Black people were promised vs stereotypical things about us. Kendricks speaks on lusting over the American dream once again, and he even says “Matter of fact, it needs interest” speaking more on how little African Americans got after being freed. The lady saying “You ain’t no king” transitions into the next song.

3. King Kunta = 3:55

“Now I run the game, got the whole world talking’,”

Kendrick starts this song off by saying he’s got a bone to pick; he’s mad but not stressing. He goes on to talk about King Kunta aka Kunta Kinte, who was a fictional Black slave featured in the novel “The Roots”. In this Novel, Kunta gets his foot cut off to prevent him escaping his plantation, and Kendrick uses the line, “Everyone wanna cut the legs off him” which means people want to prevent him from leaving the rap game. Kendrick uses King Kunta as an oxymoron meaning both oppressed like a slave and dominant like a king. He speaks of how he used to be poor, but now he runs the game. Kendrick also says “When you got the yams” which references Invisible man by Ralph Ellison. The narrator walks down the streets and smells yams, which reminds him of the South. This line is Kendrick declaring authenticity.  Attached to the rap game, Kendrick mentions that “Most of y’all sharing bars like you got the bottom bunk in a two-man cell”. Being a rapper, you usually have a certain way of rapping that’s individual. So, sharing bars is looked down upon (Something like that)

4. Institutionalized = 4:31

“I’m trapped inside the ghetto and I ain’t proud to admit it”

This song talks about being trapped. Kendrick feels as if he could never escape the ghetto despite being successful who knows it will always be a part of him. This is referenced later in the song by Snoop Dog who says, “You can take your boy out the hood, but you can’t take the hood out the homie.” A line sung by Anna Wise and Bilal talks about how if Kendrick was president he would pay his mom’s rent, and free his homies, bulletproof his car doors. He would still be living like he was in Compton. This verse ends by saying, “Master, take the chains off me” which extends the topic of being institutionalized even more. Kendrick also mentions education a lot. He talks about how the streets put him through college since he has more street smarts than book smarts, and he mentions how if you dream for something you have to fight to make it happen. He mentions a quote from his grandma who speaks about if you don’t clean up your act then nothing will change in your life for the better. The song ends with Snoop Dog speaking about a young man in Compton who was talented but under the ruse that he wasn’t able to make anything of himself.

5. These Walls = 5:00

“Everytime I come around demolition might crush”

To expand more on the album title, this is where the poem starts. Kendrick says, “I remember you was conflicted, misusing your influence/Sometimes I did the same.” Every time he mentions a line in this poem it relates to the song that’s about to play. In this song he speaks about literally being with a guy’s girl while the guy is in prison. This song talks about if walls could talk, which we should all know is a metaphor(?) for talking about what happens behind closed doors. So, the woman in this song is dating the man who killed Kendrick’s friend. This woman is alone while her man is in prison, so she goes to party! This woman still loves the man but knows it’s hard while he’s in jail. This song is very explicit with Kendrick talking about how he’s just a tenant because walls are a double meaning… Him using the phrase “Demolition might cross” talks about how the more intimate these two become the more vulnerable the woman gets with him. At the end of the songs Kendrick admits that he used his power as a rapper to get back at the guy who is in jail. The poem continues with, “Abusing my power, full of resentment/Resentment that turned into a deep depression/Found myself screaming in a hotel room.” Which transitions to the next song.

Kendrick Lamar: These Walls (2015)

6. u = 4:28

“Loving you is complicated”

Kendrick is.. screaming in a hotel room. The scream is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard, and I always giggle during his little monologue, but this is an amazing song. Kendrick speaks about how he used to be depressed, and there’s a later song in this album about loving yourself because Kendrick once said in an interview that “If you don’t attack it, it will attack you. If you sit around moping, feeling sad and stagnant, it’s gonna eat you alive.” Him saying “Loving you is complicated” references a poem by Tupac Shakur called “Love is just complicated”. It speaks on the complexities of love due to emotions and desires. Kendrick mentions a “You” multiple time, but the “You” mentioned is himself which expands on the topic of being stuck in a bad metal state. Kendrick says in the song, “What can I blame you for?” which I think is a great transition Verse 1. He is guilty and here a few reasons why. Due to the depression, Kendrick’s view of things is completely blurred, and he begins blaming himself for things that are not his fault. The verse starts by saying, “And you the reason why mama and them leavin’. /You say you love ’em, I know you don’t mean it.” which expands on the guilt he is feeling. Kendrick also talks about how when one of his close friends died, he wasn’t able to go see him before surgery, so he begins to feel like a failure. He also mentions drinking more than he used to with the line saying, “And if this bottle could talk/I cry myself to sleep, everything is your fault” This voice is Kendricks’s consciences being vulnerable with the audience. No poem continuation on this song…

New Video: Kendrick Lamar – 'U / For Sale?' (Short Film) | HipHop-N-More

7. Alright = 3:39

“Alls my life, I has to fight”

I think most of us have heard this song. It may be the most popular on the album! This first line, being the line I quoted, is from the Novel “The Color Purple”. This line was said by Sofia who talks about having to fight men all her life. Her dad, brothers, cousins, and uncles. She says, “A girl child ain’t safe in a family of men. But I never thought I’d have to fight in my own house.” Kendrick uses the line, “We gon’ be alright” to speak on how despite the pain and suffering, we will survive, which is attached to Black Live Matter; this song even became an anthem of hope and resilience. Kendrick talks more about the rap industry using him for money, but he’s doing this to stand up for the Black community. This song also speaks about police brutality saying, “Wanna kill us dead in the street for sure.” but he continues to say that we will be alright. Again, in this song Kendrick mentions the house, car, forty acres and a mule, a piano, and guitar. The piano and guitar stand for music. When he says all these things he changes from Uncle Sam to Lucy. As in the devil. This verse is Lucy speaking, who will come up once again in the next song. Kendrick talks about the rights and wrongs and attempts to fight back. He ends the verse by saying, “I write ’til I’m right with God.” This song ends with more on the poem, “I didn’t want to self-destruct/The evils of Lucy was all around me/So I went runnin’ for answers.”

Kendrick Lamar Sees the World in Black-and-White in 'Alright' Video ...

8. For Sale? – Interlude = 3:39

“Lucy don’t mind ’cause at the end of the day you’ll pursue me”

This song begins with breathing because Kendrick went “runnin’ for answers” at the end of Alright. There’s a taunting voice at the beginning asking him what’s wrong and saying, “I thought you was keeping it gangsta/I thought this what you wanted.” This voice is speaking on how he is courting with Lucy, and the intro ends by saying. “They say if you scared, go to church/But remember, he knows the bible too” in reference to how Lucy was an angel before being expelled from heaven, so he has an understanding on the bible. The chorus that plays is in perspective of Lucy and he says, “Cause I (Want you)”. Lucy is beckoning Kendrick with pretending like he is a friend to him. Lucy continues to try to convince Kendrick by saying, “Lucy give you no worries/Lucy gon’ fill your pockets/Lucy gon’ move your mama out of Compton/Lucy just want your trust and loyalty”. The voice speaks in a third person before straight up saying “I’m Lucy”. And eventually does his best to convince Kendrick to sign a contract after watching Kendrick all his life to make him successful. The poem continues, “Until I came home”

Bugsnax- An LGBT game I love

Bugsnax - PS4 & PS5 Games | PlayStation (US)

Bugsnax is a game where you play as a photographer and go off to this island to interview a woman who made a colony there. The woman named Lizbert (below) found an island like no other, where these animals called Bugsnax live. The Bugsnax, as shown in the picture above, are animals/insects fused with foods, and when you eat the food, they become a part of your body. She moved to this island with a group of others to make a new life, but everything went wrong when she went missing.

Bugsnax

So, Bugsnax has many interesting things about it, but of course when I played this like two years ago, I was interested in why it was under the LGBT tag in the shop. I downloaded the game while it was free on gamepass and I indulged. In the game we are on a flying ship that gets wrecked into by this giant creature, which turned out to be a large pepperoni pizza! We first meet Filbo who is the blue monster in the first picture, and he tells us he was out looking for Bugsnax. He was the vice mayor of the little community they had, but everyone was separated, so really our main goal was to get the town back together. So, you’ll never guess who my favorite two in the game were…

BUGSNAX - Snorpy e Chandlo de volta a cidade - PT-BR #10 - YouTube

So, I’m definitely lying when I say these two are my favorite, I think. My favorite couple is actually this lady who sings for this guy which is cute but not the point. Meet Chandlo and Snorpy. They were literally roommates. When these two left they went to live in this cabin on the mountains. Snorpy never left the house, so Chandlo gave us the task to convince him to touch grass. They have this odd homoerotic relationship, and it’s clear they both have feelings for each other, but Snorpy is too afraid to say anything. But when you convince one of them to go back, the other follows.

Before we move on. There is a party near the end when you get everyone back to the village. Snorpy is talking to us and he’s all like, man I really like Chandlo, but I don’t think he likes me. So, we convince Snorpy to confess, and apparently Chandlo thought they had been together for years before they kissed on a Ferris wheel. WHAT? They drive me insane, but I love them so much sigh…

EGGABELL LIVES! | Bugsnax (Let's Play Part 10) - YouTube

This is Eggabell, Lizbert’s wife or girlfriend, I’m not sure which. But when we first arrived, she wasn’t there, but we had seen the two in tapes at the beginning of the game. I think this is our first meeting with her, where we find a clue on where Lizbert disappeared to. We have to get into these big stone doors and go inside of them with Eggabell, who is not leaving until she gets Lizbert back.

Bugsnax Ending Explained | What is the end credit scene, the Grumpinati ...

When we get into the big stone doors, we find Lizbert like this. She explains that Bugsnaxs are evil. Which I knew from the beginning! So, I may be remembering this weird, but I think Eggabell fuses with Lizbert into that nasty creature you see in the picture above, and they hold off the Bugsnax while we get back to the village to help everyone get off.

Let’s talk about the ending I got. Bugsnax is a game with multiple endings because at the village you have to do challenges to hold the Bugsnax back while fixing your ship.. and you’ll never guess who died after my first playthrough… SNORPY. Oh my god, it was the saddest moment in my life to watch him die, IN FRONT OF CHANDLO. Everyone lived except him, it was literally all my fault </3 So guess what, when we made it back to actual civilization, I spoke to Chandlo. He was all like, yeah, I’ll miss him, and I wish I could’ve stopped it- At this point I’m crying real tears. So, a few months ago, I bought the game for like 8 dollars, it was on sale, and I am in the process of replaying it, so I don’t kill Snorpy. Anyways, that was my experience with Bugsnax!

Overwatch Season 15

Overwatch 2: How To Join Voice Chat

Overwatch season 15 was released February 18 of this year, and I have been so excited about it. We had so much in store for this season, so let me talk about it in this blog!

  1. Loot Boxes Overwatch: Blizzard Explains How Loot Boxes Are Designed

These were the most exciting things about the new season. Overwatch used to have loot boxes way before I played but they got removed! In this season they returned. You can get up to 100 per season! Full of free cosmetics, stickers, voice lines, and profile pictures/banners. It’s the best feeling to me to be able to rip open a loot box!

2. Galactic weapons

Overwatch 2 Reveals Season 15 Mythic, Galactic Weapons, and More

Overwatch has a competitive mode, and in this mode, you can get weapon variants, which include gold and jade, but this season galactic themed weapons were added! I don’t often play comp, but this is definitely something that encourages me to play that game mode!

3. Battle Pass skins

Overwatch 2 Season 15 Battle Pass skins: Rainy Day Kiriko, Toxic Venture, and more! cover image

This battle pass was the cutest thing ever. I honestly don’t know what the theme is.. (I think it’s Chinese New Year?) but these skins are so cool, and I bought this battle pass, so I get all of them! The most exciting thing was a new Venture skin because they often get ignored. Zarya as well! All of these skins are amazing, and there are the cutest weapon charms in this battle pass as well.

4. Zenyatta Mythic skin & Widow Mythic weapon

Pixiu Zenyatta Skin Preview | Overwatch 2 Season 15 Mythic - YouTubeOverwatch 2 introduces Widowmaker mythic weapon in Season 15 | esports.gg

Zenyatta’s new skin is like the most awesome thing ever. The skin is beautful, but I won’t be getting it just yet because I’m saving for Ashe… sigh </3. It is based off of Pixiu, which is a Chinese mythical hybrid creature

Widowmaker was also given a mythic, but this one is a mythic gun. It’s so cool looking, and I can’t even play her.. (I have no aim) I’ve definitely been tempted to learn just to get it! Mythic weapons add a flourish ability and show an animation when you get a kill!! It’s so cool looking, sigh…

5. Le Sserafim Collab pt.2

K-POP_SKIN_ILLUST_16-9.jpg

Le Sserafim has collaborated with Overwatch before, but this is the second one! This collab included Illari, Ashe, D.va, Mercy, and Juno (left to right). I was very excited about this one, just because Ashe and Illari got skins which they BARELY get. I absolutely purchased a skin from this! I believed that I wouldn’t at first, but Illari was calling my name.. who am I to not answer??

Perks have to be the most exciting thing Overwatch has added. During a game you get to choose from two perks twice. You get choices that can help your playstyle. It was difficult to get used to this because it was added so suddenly, but it makes the game so much more interesting, and I just found out that in the mystery heroes game mode your perks get randomized, so it helps you experiment with this way more.

Most of this blog is just me yapping about things most of you know nothing about, but I love Overwatch, and I am so glad that they have been improving so much. This will always be my favorite game, and I can’t wait for much more in the future.

Inside by Bo Burnham: Outtakes

Watch An Hour of Bo Burnham's Outtakes from Award Winning Special ...

Hi guys! Do you remember that two part blog I did on Inside by Bo Burnham? Well, I said I’d talk about the outtakes and here I am! Inside Outtakes is one of my favorite things in the whole entire world. In this blog I’ll only be talking about songs he actually sang, and not just the instrumental, but you should give this a watch or listen! Free on YouTube! Also, some of these songs don’t have actually pictures so I just picked some I like for the most part. Bo Burnham is a very pretty man; I love these pictures.

Small Tw because there’s a picture of a spider down the line.

Bezos III- 1:25

“Jeffery Bezos”

This is the third Bezos song in the deluxe album. It’s just him saying Jeffery Bezos over and over again, but it’s used to transition into the next song.

10 Best Performances In Bo Burnham: Inside | ScreenRant

The Future- 1:33

“I’ll bother getting ready when I bother getting dressed”

The Future is Bo singing about what the future will be like. He’ll wake up at a quarter to ten trying to decipher if it’s real, and his daughter will come wake him up. Well, he doesn’t have a daughter right now, but this is in the future! He doesn’t know if he’s depressed or stressed, or if this will end any time soon. He showers at a quarter to one with a 2-in-1 shampoo. He’s struggling to get up to get dressed and he doesn’t wanna deal with it, so he downloads an app to mediate. It’s the future.

WTFIGO- 0:54

“I don’t know what’s happening”

In this song, Bo talks about how he doesn’t know what’s going on, and he doesn’t know what’s happening. WTFIGO stands for “What the f–k is going on?”

1985- 2:26

“If I could be anybody, dead or alive. I would wanna be my dad in 1985”

Bo starts this song with describing a guy. He’s cool guy with a cool shirt, cool shoes (Did he mention the shirt?) But yeah. This man he’s speaking of gains respect by walking into a room. The news doesn’t affect him when he reads it. He’s happy to be alive, and he’s any white guy in 1985. He supports his family despite his wife’s underwhelming cooking. Bo wants to be who he is right now but 40 years ago. But wait! He doesn’t mean just any white guy. He means his dad, Scott Burnham, in 1985.

Feel Good- 0:43

“I’m not even close to kidding. Write it in an email”

Feel good is the ending song when you watch the video, but it’s here ion the album. In this song Bo talks about how all he wants is to feel good. He wonders if anyone actually knows how to and if they can inform him on how to do that exactly.

10 Best Songs From Bo Burnham: The Inside Outtakes

Five years- 3:48

“Everyone’s a feminist until there is a spider around”

In this song Bo is singing about how he and his partner have been together for five years. He starts off by saying she’s his best friend, and they can work any problem out! In this first example we have of this couple is Bo ordering food and her stealing food from him. He gets upset, and she calls him a psycho.  He just says she owes him a dumpling. Our next situation is the couple seeing a spider and both of them jumping to high ground. Shew tells him to be a man and kill it, and Bo response is that her whole world view collapses the moment there’s a spider. The last verse is him pointing out how she needs to poo every time he uses the bathroom! But they have two bathrooms….

Biden- 0:51

“How is the best-case scenario, Joe?”

This song is short, and I usually skip it. The most I can do is agree with the fact that Joe was a best-case scenario, unfortunately.. Presidency is a long rant for another day. (maybe) But let’s not get too political.

Please Enjoy Bo Burnham's Song About Joe Biden That Got Cut From ...

Microwave Popcorn- 2:27

“There’s a button and the button says ‘popcorn’ ”

Bo is making microwaved popcorn! In a microwave because he’s on that wave. (I love this song) We get introduced into the steps on making popcorn. Taking it out the plastic, looking at the directions, putting the packet on the glass- The little glass dish in the microwave! He closes the door. Bo starts singing about how he’s a rule follower because he’s a studious guy. He starts the popcorn and burns it. So, he eats skinny pops instead, but when he looks at the microwave, he sees a button that says popcorn! How did he miss that button? The voices take over and the song ends.

Bezos IV- 0:38

“Jeffery Preston Bezos”

Our last Bezos song. Bo is sticking with Jeffery! He gets a feeling when he looks in his eye.. (I don’t know if his other eye even sees..) Do you need reasons why he’s sticking with Jeffery? Well, he doesn’t give any. That’s all!

Spider- 0:35

“I ain’t afraid of no spider”

There’s a spider hiding in the corner! Bo isn’t afraid of no spider, just until it starts moving, and he starts panicking. He loses the spider, and the song ends mid panic.

This Isn’t A Joke- 1:12

“I came out face first”

This isn’t a joke so don’t joke about it. Bo is taking it slow. I think he got a little sidetracked because he starts to talk about his pores, and how weird looking he is. He’s 29, and in his prime! But he doesn’t wanna talk about it. He begins talking about his birth scar, and how he got it because when he was born, he came out face first. Now look at him!

The Chicken- 4:09

“There’s just one thing: The chicken must first cross the road”

Last song, so let’s get emotional. This song always makes me cry, and I’m actually tearing up while typing this. This is a song about why the chicken crossed the road, and I encourage everyone to listen to this song if you don’t listen to any of the others. You may not be as emotional as I am, you might not even like the song, but I love it. Bo starts the story about a chicken who wakes up to the sounds of her husband’s screams. She is nursing eggs, and she is tired of her life. She’s in the dark, thinking about the life she can have. Walking to Memphis, becoming a dentist, anything other than this life. She loves being a mother and a wife, but it feels like that’s all she is. She looked out the window. The next day she wakes up and decides to escape. She wants freedom. She runs out of the coop and stares meadows full of other animals, but there’s just one thing. The road blocking her from this dream. So, she has to cross it to get there, the giant road when she’s so little. She moves one foot after the other but is frozen in the place of headlights. A car coming her way. No one knows what happens next, but Bo says we should think that she got what she wanted. She got to the other side.

10 Best Monologues From Bo Burnham: The Inside Outtakes

Fav Hamilton songs ranked!!

Hamilton will always be top 5 musicals for me (I’ve only seen about five.) But that’s not the point. It was written by the musical genius Lin-Manuel Miranda. The songs are amazing, but of course I have favorites. SO, THIS WILL BE MY TOP 10!!

Hamilton at Victoria Palace Theatre

10. You’ll be back

You'll Be Back "Hamilton" Jonathan Groff in 2020 | Jonathan groff ...

You’ll be back will always be a classic favorite. It has to be one of the most popular Hamilton songs and I think it’s the first one I ever heard. It is sung by Jonathan Groff, and he does an amazing job as his role of King George. The song is one that never fails to make me wanna sing and I think it kinda gives toxic ex, which I guess matches him having control over the colonies..

9. Guns and Ships

Daveed Diggs leaps to Broadway stardom in 'Hamilton' | The Times of Israel

Guns and Ships, my love.. This song was sung by Daveed Digs, and he is one of my favorite actors ever. He does a great Lafeyette and Jefferson, and this song always makes me so happy. It’s so chaotic and everyone just does their own little thing as he’s rapping. The song ends with George Washington who is played by Christopher Jackson, and he says Alexander’s name at the end, and it will always give me chills. That man was singing his heart out.

8. The Room Where It Happens

The Room Where It Happens | Hamilton Wiki | Fandom

The room where it happens.. One of the first Hamilton songs I had ever heard. Admittedly, I used to skip this song every time I watched it because I hated Aaron Burr so much that I skipped all of his songs, but one day I gave them a listen and my Hamilton life was changed. The room where it happens has amazing vocals and choreography. Everything about it gave me chills. I kinda mess with Aaron Burr now.

7. Say No to This

I don't know how to say no to this hamilton Blank Template - Imgflip

I used to be so ashamed for liking this song because I watched Hamilton back in like 2020 or 2021 when people used to hate this song because Alexander was cheating on Eliza.. But of course, I wouldn’t like it for that reason!! As I said in this song Alexander cheats on Eliza with a woman named Mariah Reynolds, who tells Hamilton that her husband is treating her terribly. Eliza is out of town with her sister and her children to visit their parents. They begged Alexander to come, but he didn’t go. He has this affair, but Mariah is also married. A man named James Reynolds tell Hamilton to send him money and he won’t say a word, but if he doesn’t then he’ll tell Eliza. He agrees to send the money and stop the whole situation. The vocals are beautiful, and I love the story behind it. This song is full of suspense, and it would be higher on my list if I was able to enjoy this song when I first heard it.

6. Farmer Refuted

Farmer Refuted | Alexander hamilton, Musicals, Founding fathers

This song is my favorite ever omgee. It’s not higher because the song is kinda stupid.. It’s just an introduction to you’ll be back. This song always makes me wanna sing because Samuel Seabury is my GOAT. The song is just really catchy and really funny to me. Samuel is singing about the revolution, and Hamilton is disagreeing with everything this man is saying. Samuel is just trying to read off his little scroll, and Hamilton is literally hoping up on the box with him. I would’ve crashed out.

5. Satisfied

Hamilton's "Satisfied" Lyrics, Explained

This song never fails to give me chills. The first time I listened to it I fell in love with it. The second time I learned all of the lyrics, and ever since then I have never stopped singing this song every time I hear it. The way she talks about the situation makes me foam at the mouth. She recounts the details of the night they met, then she names out all of the reasons she knew they couldn’t be together. She says she knew she could’ve had him, but she introduced him to her helpless sister, Eliza. She was thankful that Alexander was in her life, but she knew she would just never be satisfied.

4. The Reynolds Pamphlet

The Reynolds pamphlet - Hamilton (Original Cast 2016 - Live) [HD ...

This is like the funniest song in the musical. They expose him so crazy for cheating on Eliza. Well, Alexaner exposes himself, and Jefferson makes sure that EVERYBODY hears about it. They sing about how he’ll never be president now, so he’s no longer real competition. Angela comes to support Eliza, and Alexander thinks she’s there for him! Anyways, the choreography is my favorite. Everyone is just running around and throwing letters around. It always makes me laugh. They even end the song saying, “His poor wife”.

3. Non-Stop (This is a long one)

Non-Stop | Hamilton Wiki | Fandom

Non-Stop begins after John Laurens dies, and he was one of Hamilton’s best friends. He says, “I have so much work to do” after finding out. Burr and Hamilton are both lawyers, and Burr talks about how Hamilton just never stops talking; he never stops writing. He’s just non-stop! (haha get it?) Anyways, Hamilton was chosen for the constitutional convention. He proposed a new government, and that night he shows up at Burr’s door to defend the constitution for him. Burr disagrees because he stands for keeping his plans private. No one really knows what Burr stands for, and he plans to keep it that way. We hear from Angelica that she is now married and lives in Londen with him. Her and Hamilton send each other letters. Eliza tells Hamilton that all she wants him to do is stay alive. Burr tells us about the Federalist papers that Hamilton, John Jay, and James Maddison all wrote. They planned to write 25. Hamiton wrote 51 pages all by himself! There was a total of 85 essays. They talk about how he writes like he’s running out of time, and Hamilton does this because writing saved his life. George Washington comes in and promotes Hamilton over the state department. Now! Introducing my favorite part of the song. It starts with Eliza calling Alexander’s name, and he tells her she has to go. Angelica joins in and says he will never be satisfied, then George Washington Joins in! I will always be in love with overlapping vocals oh my goodness..

2. It’s Quiet Uptown

It's Quiet Uptown and The Joy of Hearing Melancholy Music

This song takes place after their son, Philip, dies in a duel due to Hamilton. Angelica starts the song talking about terrible unimaginable suffering. The Hamiltons moved uptown and learn to live with it. Hamilton is alone, and he is quiet. He’s never liked the quiet. He takes his children to church, and he prays. He never prayed before. The company comes in and says if you see him walking in the street to have pity. He walks by himself and talks to himself, and he just walks. Hamilton sings about his son, and it makes me wanna cry!! He tries to talk to Eliza. He knows he doesn’t deserve her, and he wishes to sacrifice himself if he could. They say have pity if you see you walking and talking to her. He tries his best to speak to her, but Eliza stands there, unresponsive, until she grabs his hand and forgives him. I didn’t realize how much I loved this song until I made this list. It’s truly one of my favorites, and it makes my heart ache.

  1. Your obedient servant

Your Obedient Servant | Alexander hamilton, Hamilton, Servant

Your Obedient Servant is a summarization of Hamilton and Burr’s feud. Burr is upset because Hamilton endorsed Thomas Jefferson. He believes Hamilton did it to keep him from winning. So, he sends him a letter saying that he doesn’t get angry often, but Alexander made that happen. He looks back on all of his failures and Hamilton’s disrespect is always there. Hamilton called him immoral and a disgrace, so Burr told him to name a time and a place. He signs the letter saying, “I have the honor to be your obedient servant. A. Burr”. So, guess what Hamilton does. He sends an ITEMIZED list of THIRTY years of disagreements. He says he didn’t mean to offend him, but he won’t be apologizing either. He signs the letter saying, “I have the honor to be your obedient servant. A. Ham”. They send letter back in forth before agreeing to have a duel with each other to solve the argument.

Why I love Overwatch 2!!

Overwatch 2 Characters UHD 4K Wallpaper | Pixelz

^ (Can’t find a pic with everyone, but these are some of my goats. Except Winston, oh my god I dislike him so much, he’s so annoying to play against. Anyone who plays him is my worst enemy. Oh, and also Tracer, she will never be my goat, I will never play her by choice, I will always target her in every game I ever play)

For a little over a year, I’ve been playing Overwatch 2. It came out in 2016 and is on its 14th season. (15th in about a month) I started playing during season 8 and I quickly found myself actually liking this game. I’ve never been a gamer in my life. All I played was Roblox and Minecraft, but those games became boring, so I decided to give this one a try. I played with a friend who didn’t teach me how to play, just simply threw me into a game and told me who to play which led to my first main. D.va!

Cardboard D.Va Bundle - Overwatch 2 | Battle.net

^This being the skin I have for her. D.va has two lives. She’s a tank and she’ll sit in this big Mech, Tokki, until it breaks, and she has to jump around in what people call her baby D.va form (which is just normal her, but she has 175 health?? I feel like a little roach whenever I get out of mech) and hopefully either get it back or die. (You always respawn it’s fine). One thing I love about Overwatch, though, is the variety of skins. People complain about the game being a cash grab, but if I get to collect these stupid character skins then I will! Anyways, after I realized I was terrible at D.va I stopped playing her. (I play her again now, I just had to actually get good at the game) The friend and me were no longer gaming together so I played with someone else and that’s when I discovered Moira! My second main. (who is level 24 for me, and I have like 27 hours on her)

KEOS MASONS - Venus Moira (Legendary skin)

Moira has become one of my favorite characters. She is a support who requires no aim whatsoever. She uses her purple to do damage and yellow to heal. She just throws around these orbs and does A LOT of damage. (At least she did until they nerfed her</3) but the characters are another thing I love about overwatch. Right now, there are 42(I think?) characters. All of them are diverse and somehow connected to each other. People complain and say they shouldn’t add so many, but like I love seeing new characters even if they suck sometimes (Which no one does except PHARAH.), because making a character is a hit or miss with most things and I feel like the more chacters they add the more lore we get and I would prefer to learn about character lore over the world lore because all I know is omnic war and only like six people fought in it. Anyway.

In overwatch there is a group called overwatch (duh), but not everyone on the cast list is IN overwatch, but they’re related to it in some way. Which is something I may talk about in another blog.

Anyways. Right now, I main Cassidy and Mercy.

Airborn Studios - Overwatch Archives 2019 - Deadlock CassidyHow to get the Vengeance Mercy Mythic skin in Overwatch 2

These two have managed to become two of my favorite characters to play, and I love these skins so much omgee. They’re like the most fun for me and I find myself winning more when I play them (Send help, I’ve spent so much money on this game.)

Still, there are many things I love about overwatch even if the game makes me want to take a bite out of my controller. What I really enjoy about it is the unique set on abilities the characters have. Not all of them do the same thing. It made it so much easier for me, someone who never plays games, to get good at this game because everyone is so different. You don’t even need aim half the time! (It’s still humbling to have a 15% aim accuracy..)

In the past few weeks, I’ve been teaching my closest friends to play this game and even if they end up not liking it that’s fine because I’m able to share something I really like with them. Right now, I have a group of four people, and we all play together! (Just one more person and we’ll have a full team of friendship!) Still, I have been encouraging friends to try out this game with me or at least let me talk about it, because there’s so much to it and I am still learning many things about overwatch.

As terrible as the game is at times, it brings me peace even if I rage, because if nothing else is here for me I know Overwatch is.

Ranking Tyler, the creator albums!!

Tyler The Creator Net Worth (Updated 2023) - Bio Overview

Tyler, the Creator is one of my favorite artists and I can confidently say that I have heard at least two songs from every album of his!! Now I know J.T. did a blog his ranking songs, but I’m ranking albums so this is different >:] Also, I cannot put Cherry bomb or Goblin in this ranking, I have only heard two songs from Goblin and I’m kinda scared to listen to it!! And I only know like three from Cherry Bomb.

  1. Call me If you get lost

Tyler, The Creator Call Me If You Get Lost LP Vinyl Black | lupon.gov.ph

I love this album so much, specifically the estate sale because it’s the one I always listen to and the record I have. This has to be one of my actual top 10 albums. I don’t listen to it as much as I wish I did, but I definitely need to. I don’t know many of his songs by name because I listen to most of these on my record player, so it just goes, and I always have a good time when this album is playing. This album has a couple of popular songs like “Sweet/I thought you wanted to dance” and “Dogtooth” It is 1 hour and 17 minutes long and has 24 songs. My favorite song is “Massa”.

2. IGOR
Igor by Tyler, The Creator: Amazon.co.uk: CDs & Vinyl

I’d say this is one of his most popular, having a bunch of songs we all know and love as “A boy is a gun*”, “Are we still friends?”, and “New Magic Wand”. In this album Tyler is in love with a man who is dating a woman. To me the album is pretty collected in the way. You can hear his desperation, but it’s clear he’s upset. He’s goes through these many stages. He’s sad, then he accepts it, then he gets angry. This album is 39 minutes long and has 12 songs, my favorite song is “Puppet”.

3. Wolf

Wolf (Tyler, the Creator album) - Wikipedia

Oh my, I love Wolf so much. The album is oddly aggressive, and I just love when singers are like this. Truthfully, I don’t know many of these songs by name because I always listen to them on my record, but whenever I do it makes me just wanna hop around. One of his most popular songs is in this album, “IFHY”. There’s also “Colossus” that everyone has been talking about since “Noid” came out. Tyler will always be one of the only male rappers I can listen to and actually enjoy. This album is 1 hour and 10 minutes long and has 18 songs. My favorite song is “Awkward”.

4. Flower Boy

REVIEW: Tyler, the Creator's "Flower Boy" - Cult MTL

So, I really enjoy flower boy as a whole. Everything about it just makes me happy, the aesthetic, the vibe, and definitely the music. This album has one of his most popular songs “See you again.” Flower boy also has some of my favorite music videos. (I’ve only seen like three, but I never watch music vids please spare me.) I also just love that his albums have different vibes to them, it’s my favorite artist thing when all of their music sounds different but still like them. This album is 46 minutes long and has 14 songs. My favorite song is “Who dat boy”.

5. Chromakopia

Tyler, The Creator's New Album 'Chromakopia' Out October 28

Yummy, Chromakopia. Originally, I was gonna do a blog ranking these songs and I still might, just not now. This album and Kendrick’s album both dropping after I had the worst breakup ever literally got me over it faster! Being able to hear two of my favorite artists make the amazing music they did just makes me so happy. Chromakopia was everything to me when it came out, I listened to it over and over and I still enjoy all of these songs. I don’t care how much they get overplayed. The vibe in this is amazing and all of the features he added just makes it all the much better. The vulnerability in this album also just makes me wanna sob when I listen to it. Anyways, this album is 53 minutes long and has 14 songs. My favorite song is “Judge Judy”.

The amazing Amanda Palmer

Amanda palmer is one of my favorite artists at this time in my life. I used to listen to her but not like how I do now. A lot of you may have even heard her before without knowing that it was her! Here I will be naming some things she has done and talk about my favorite songs from them.

Amanda Palmer Begins Paying ‘Crowd-Sourced’ Musicians

  1. Dresden Dolls

The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls Photo (8398989) - Fanpop

The Dresden dolls were formed in 2000. With, of course, Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione. The two played at Halloween party together and formed the duo afterwards. Amanda did the vocals and piano, along with ukelele and a harmonica while Brian played the drums, bass, and guitar. The group was inspired by Kate Bush, Cyndi Lauper, and Laurie Anderson. One of their most popular songs is “My Alcoholic friends” and “Coin-operated boy” My favorite song by the duo is “Missed Me” (go listen to it.) The duo broke up in 2008 but continued to have reunions.

2. Evelyn Evelyn

Evelyn Evelyn: A Tragic Tale In Two Tomes by Amanda Palmer | NOOK Book ...

This duo was made in 2007. While on tour Amanda and her friend Jason Webley found these girls on myspace, they were made by the Neville sisters. The two listened to the one song they had posted and fell in love with the song and the two conjoined twins, Eva and Lyn. They asked them if they wanted to record a song, and the creators agreed. They recorded multiple demos before it was actually released in 2010.  The most popular songs are “A Campaign of Shock and Awe” and “Have you seen my sister Evelyn?”. My favorite song from this is “Sandy Fishnets”!

3. Amanda Palmer (Solo)

Listen to Amanda Palmer speak to a troll who sent her abuse online

In my final category I will be talking a little bit about her solo account. Amanda went solo in June of 2008. The exact month I was born! Her first solo album was “Who killed Amanda Palmer”.  Unfortunately, I’m still getting into her solo music so I can’t speak too much about it. But! My favorite song that she has is “Runs in the Family”. Her music is amazing and the way she sings always hypnotizes me and I think everyone who reads this should give these songs a listen!!
