Hello everyone! It’s so good to be back posting blogs monthly! For my first review I wanted to share a favorite band of mine: Florence and the Machine. Specifically one song from them that I fancy. I have been listening to them for quite a while now, so hopefully this review may get you interested in them. The song I would like to review is<\/span> Dog Days Are Over<\/b>. Alright, with that being said, let’s begin!<\/span><\/p>\n

DOG DAYS ARE OVER<\/b> by Florence and the Machine:<\/span><\/p>\n

Happiness, hit her like a train on a track<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back<\/span><\/p>\n

She hid around corners and she hid under beds<\/span><\/p>\n

She killed it with kisses and from it she fled<\/span><\/p>\n

With every bubble she sank with a drink<\/span><\/p>\n

And washed it away down the kitchen sink<\/span><\/p>\n

Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back<\/span><\/p>\n

Struck from a great height<\/span><\/p>\n

By someone who should know better than that<\/span><\/p>\n

One of my favorite parts of this song is the chorus:<\/span><\/p>\n

The dog days are over<\/span><\/p>\n

The dog days are done<\/span><\/p>\n

Can’t you hear the horses<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Cause here they come<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the interpretations was that she was singing about getting away from alcohol and drugs. Which is understandable when you look at the lyrics: <\/span>the dog days are over, the dog days are done. <\/span>It interprets to her getting away from those days where she would do drugs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Another was that she was singing about being scared of love: <\/span>Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back, Struck from a great height, By someone who should know better than that. <\/span>This is like she is being shocked by love. It is foreign to her, but now she has been hit with it. It shows her being wary of love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, the song is very catchy and interpretive. I\u2019m sure anyone could find different meanings in this song! From the chorus to the beat of it, this song is truly amazing and close to my heart. In fact, all of her songs make me feel great inside! Florence and the Machine is definitely one of my favorite bands, and will continue to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would definitely recommend listening to their songs! Also, take a look at the music videos! They are very fun and interesting!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
