Hi, this is a poem I wrote a few weeks ago! I hope you like it!<\/em><\/p>\n

Hello, Old Friend. Do you remember me?\u00a0<\/span>
\nYou seem to have captured my thoughts recently.<\/span>
\nDo you ever think of me?<\/span>
\nDo you ever think of the nights spent dreaming and<\/span>
\nPlanning for a tomorrow?<\/span>
\nDo you remember the songs we sang as the rain broke\u00a0<\/span>
\nThrough the window pane and kissed our cheeks?<\/span>
\nI do.<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>
\nYou know, some nights I dream about you.<\/span>
\nIt\u2019s nothing too crazy or wild, but I\u2019ll dream of you.<\/span>
\nWe\u2019ll be somewhere that I don\u2019t remember but<\/span>
\nCan\u2019t forget and we\u2019ll be doing something minute,<\/span>
\nBut there would be this free wind, this whisper of<\/span>
\nThe past, blowing through your hair. Your eyes would<\/span>
\nHave that look in them that conveyed so much but<\/span>
\nSaid practically nothing. And you\u2019d emit such a laugh<\/span>
\nThat could bring the world to a knee.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>
\nBut then I\u2019d wake up. Those are the saddest, I think.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThe nights when everything you wanted visits<\/span>
\nYou with a resounding disappointment.\u00a0<\/span>
\nWe were so young and dumb and willing to forget<\/span>
\nOur futures for something so fleeting.<\/span>
\nIf you could go back in time, would you?<\/span>
\nWould you come with me to a time where our<\/span>
\nOnly concern was each other?<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>
\nThis might sound a bit selfish, but I see you every once<\/span>
\nIn a while. You\u2019ll be with your wife and your daughter and<\/span>
\nYou\u2019ll look so genuinely happy. And my heart shatters<\/span>
\nWith the thought that I, once upon a time, was the only<\/span>
\nPerson that knew how beautiful your smile truly was.<\/span>
\nNow, she knows our secret. She knows the innermost<\/span>
\nParts of your soul that only revealed themselves after<\/span>
\nNights spent on rooftops and in quiet retreats into the night.<\/span>
\nNow, she knows our secrets.<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>
\nI\u2019m sorry. I\u2019ve bombarded you with overanalyzed<\/span>
\nemotional secrets. How is your life going, Old Friend?<\/span>
\nAre you happy? With her? Are you satisfied with the<\/span>
\nLife that has chosen you?\u00a0<\/span>
