{"id":5205,"date":"2019-01-16T11:12:53","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T17:12:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/?p=5205"},"modified":"2019-01-16T11:12:53","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T17:12:53","slug":"a-rewrite-of-the-instruction-manual-on-how-to-dig-me-out-of-this-hole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/2019\/01\/16\/a-rewrite-of-the-instruction-manual-on-how-to-dig-me-out-of-this-hole\/","title":{"rendered":"A Rewrite Of The Instruction Manual On How To Dig Me Out Of This Hole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want someone to tell me how to be happy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want someone to take me to the end of the rainbow,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where they have found their very own happiness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take the corners of my fallen mouth and turn them upright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sew them up with purple thread because that\u2019s my favorite color.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take my tears and store them somewhere sacred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where someday I can go back and spread them,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the dead ashes of the sadness inside me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reattach my hair back together with my scalp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do so carefully because they are delicate too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinch my cheeks to give them a rosy color,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">even if the only way is through pain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lift my drooping shoulders and arch my slumping spine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So that I can stand tall in hopes of seeing the light,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the end of the dark tunnel I\u2019ve been traveling through.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a magic marker and erase the darkness under my eyes,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because the pigmentation is taking away from the beautiful blue eyes,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I used to get complimented on some time ago<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Put my puzzling mind back in place,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One by one so I\u2019ll know if I\u2019m missing a piece or not.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piece me back to whole because I can\u2019t remember what that was like anymore.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I want someone to tell me how to be happy. &nbsp; I want someone to take me to the end of the rainbow, where they have found their very own happiness. &nbsp; Take the corners of my fallen mouth and turn them upright.
