We Made That For You.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>people are going crazy, god\u2019s back and he won\u2019t stop humming.<br \/>\nhe\u2019s trying to show mary he still remembers her favorite songs.<br \/>\nhumming, humming, humming all day and every night,<br \/>\nknocking on doors and asking for mary. no, i say.<br \/>\nthis is the fourth time you\u2019ve been here, you\u2019re going in circles.<\/p>\n<p>everyone is stumbling, it\u2019s a scary time to be alive.<br \/>\nthe rocks are screaming tchaikovsky and puking,<br \/>\nthe trees are bumping their roots to the tune of war<br \/>\nand blocking out the sun. the oceans have been crying all their life,<br \/>\nthey stopped today. no one can tell whether or not it\u2019s a good thing.<\/p>\n<p>the fish stopped sleeping without the sound of sobbing,<br \/>\nthey\u2019ve got red-stained eyebags and everyone\u2019s telling them wow,<br \/>\nyou look like crap. those fish are growing teeth and spitting \u2018em right at them,<br \/>\nsaying wow, thanks for telling me that. how nice of you.<br \/>\ni hear they\u2019re looking at fisherman straight in the eye these days.<\/p>\n<p>the snakes are eating themselves. everyone\u2019s asking them why,<br \/>\nbut the snakes know it\u2019s impolite to talk with your mouth full.<br \/>\nfrogs are growing into tadpoles and the tadpoles are too scared to grow up,<br \/>\noctopi are climbing mountains. it\u2019s a scary site for hikers,<br \/>\nbut it was on their bucketlist, so why not? the world is ending, after all.<\/p>\n<p>every cow turns into a bull. it\u2019s that kind of world now.<br \/>\nthe birds stopped chirping. they only scream now,<br \/>\nwatching their babies cook in their own eggs. everyone is comforting them,<br \/>\nwow. that must suck. the birds laugh, only if you have bad seasoning.<br \/>\nsnails are killing each other for shells. everyone is just looking for a home.<\/p>\n<p>there\u2019s a leech who claims to have fed on every god,<br \/>\nhe\u2019s big as can be and old as the heavens, laughing<br \/>\nlike the screaming of a thousand gods. he glows at the edges.<br \/>\nwe ask, what do we do, all mighty leech? run, he says.<br \/>\nrun before it kills you. the milky way is curdling.<\/p>\n<p>everyone\u2019s scrambling for the spaceships, let\u2019s leave<br \/>\nand never come back. elton john, you\u2019re in front, steer the ship<br \/>\nand we\u2019ll pray to the devil, gather all the rocks you can<br \/>\nto cover up a bit of the humming. it\u2019s no use. it\u2019s in the brain.<br \/>\ngod shakes us like a bottle rocket, is mary here? no mary here.<\/p>\n<p>he comes into my room again that night.<br \/>\nis mary here?<br \/>\nyeah, i say.<br \/>\nhow\u2019d you know.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>people are going crazy, god\u2019s back and he won\u2019t stop humming. he\u2019s trying to show mary he still remembers her favorite songs. humming, humming, humming all day and every night, knocking on doors and asking for mary. no, i say. this is the fourth time you\u2019ve been here, you\u2019re going in circles. everyone is stumbling, &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/2018\/04\/05\/that-one-time-god-hummed-so-loud-that-all-the-stained-glass-shattered-and-everyone-said-what-the-heck-we-made-that-for-you\/\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> &#8220;That One Time God Hummed So Loud That All the Stained Glass Shattered and Everyone Said, &#8220;What the Heck?
