This is a continuation of last week&#8217;s blog so let\u2019s just go ahead and jump into it. (Also the underlined bits are the characters thoughts, because on the blog it&#8217;s not as noticable as it is on a google doc.)\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As they face one another, both pairs of eyes searching the others for answers, the stranger\u2019s confident grapes suddenly falters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cElijah?\u201d The stranger cries in disbelief. \u201cNo. You\u2019re supposed to be at home. How did they find you?\u201d He adds, thick panic layering each sentence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUncle Riche\u2026 where\u2026 is she?\u201d Elijah pants out angrily. \u201cWhere. Is. Autumn?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25c8\u25c8\u25c8<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Static cracks as the monitor pans to camera nine. A foreign set of eyes watches as the pixels on the screen paint the scene of Elijah being pinned down by Uncle Riche.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abAnswer me!\u00bb Elijah\u2019s voice breaks through.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abAutumn?! Really? That\u2019s who you are worried about right now?!\u00bb Uncle Riche\u2019s distorted voice rings out next. The camera exploiting their private interaction as he dusts Elijah off, grabbing at his wrist. \u00abCome on Elijah. We can talk later, but right now we need to go.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The stranger sighs as he stares fixated into the blue lit screen. <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I thought you were different, Riche<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">but you\u2019re just like your brother<\/span>. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The man signals for someone behind him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYes, sir?\u201d A soft, innocent voice comes as a reply.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBring me the boy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without uttering another word, the soft spoken stranger leaves, returning the room to its silent static as the man watches from behind the cameras.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25c8\u25c8\u25c8<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNO!\u201d Elijah stops, yanking his hand free. \u201cI\u2019m not leaving without her. Just tell me\u2013\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cElijah! You don\u2019t understand. It\u2019s dangerous here. Please, for goodness sake get in the car, and I\u2019ll explain everything.\u201d Uncle Riche pleads with him, agitation dancing on his face, yet his words are laced with panic, urging Elijah out of the light and back into the safety of the black night. As the boys cross the barn yard, a beast-like figure dressed in gold and black blocks their path.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crap! They\u2019re already here.<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Uncle Riche places himself between the two of them. \u201cElijah. Stay behind me.\u201d He says cautiously moving the two of them backwards as the being slowly waltzes forwards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat is that thing?\u201d Elijah whispers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThat <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thing <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is called a \u2018hind.\u2019 They are dangerous people, El\u2013\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cElijah.\u201d A soft voice calls cutting Uncle Riche off. Elijah\u2019s attention is immediately drawn from his uncle\u2019s eyes to the lifeless eyes of the golden hind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crap!<\/span><\/i><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uncle Riche turns to face Elijah, grabbing ahold of his shoulders. \u201cNo. Elijah, look at me\u2013\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Elijah can\u2019t pull his graze from the gold. Uncle Riche\u2019s voice blurs into the background as the hind moves closer; its white gloved hands, reaching upwards to tug at its ears, pulling the golden head off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elijah\u2019s heart stops. \u201cAutumn?!\u201d He says, tears flooding his eyes, yet he holds them back. Autumn doesn\u2019t respond, instead she opens her arms giggling as Elijah breaks free of his uncle\u2019s safety, twirling her within his warm embrace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI knew you were alive.\u201d He says holding her closer than he ever had. \u201cI just knew you\u2013 wait\u2026\u201d He pushes space between them, allowing the bitter air to kill any warmth that still lingered. \u201cWhy are you dressed like this?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat do you mean, silly?\u201d Autumn tauntingly replies, pulling him close once more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWait. Stop\u201d He shoves away from her once more, this time looking for freedom not answers. As Elijah is turning to run, Autumn latches onto his wrist, yelling \u201cNOW!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What? <\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elijah glances back before a blinding pain plagues his chest and an overbearing <\/span><b><i>BANG! <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clogs his ears.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ok thanks y\u2019all and see you next week.
