{"id":21991,"date":"2025-08-28T10:06:06","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T15:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/?p=21991"},"modified":"2025-08-28T10:06:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T15:06:06","slug":"bismuth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/2025\/08\/28\/bismuth\/","title":{"rendered":"bismuth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>in season 3 ep 24 of steven universe steven travels inside lion and finds bismuth- as masculine blacksmith ready to lay her life down for the revolution. now this is why I don&#8217;t like her character.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>bismuth character was focused on war and destruction, or she was rather blinded by it, I guess. she wanted to do whatever it took to kill the diamonds even if that meant killing other gems and of course rose happily agreed but deep-down rose knew she couldn&#8217;t let her do that because Suprise she was a diamond herself. killing one diamond would not be enough they needed to kill all of them. the writers made it seem as if that was bismuth whole character was made to be this bloodthirsty monster. she even built breaking point to shatter the diamonds.\u00a0 bismuth attacked steven believing it was rose attempting to stop her mission once more, leading to her being bubbled, fortunately in the episode &#8220;made of honor&#8221; she gets unbubbled and talked to properly where steven explains rose quarts = pink diamond. honestly, they should&#8217;ve bought back other gems and let us hear their &#8220;war&#8221; stories too.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>bismuth was and probably still is suffering from ptsd from the war. now she has a family willing to fight for her as she will for them.
