Chacha cha (Imagine me saying that like Grunkle Stan).\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyway, today I\u2019m discussing the elite and OG detective, and mystery shows that I\u2019m pretty sure none of you youngsters have watched or even heard of (Please take no offense, I\u2019m joking I promise.)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I&#8217;m <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not ranking them, just going down the list and explaining what each of them are and what makes them the best in my opinion. \u00a0 Also yes, I\u2019ve actually watched these.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matlock\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 394w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I love this dude, he\u2019s so chill.\u00a0 I\u2019ll tell you why later.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matlock is an elderly criminal defense attorney played by Andy Griffith, meaning he represents the \u201cguilty.\u201d\u00a0 At least the people who are accused of committing the acts. \u00a0 He solves these cases with his daughter and one of his colleagues who have the best dynamic, they\u2019re so cute.\u00a0 Together they run around with each other and find evidence that proves the defendant\u2019s innocence. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 If I\u2019m describing to someone the format of each show, it would always start with someone unknown committing a crime, it\u2019s either a shadow the audience sees or a voice the audience hears that\u2019s committing it.\u00a0 We never know, but what we do see is the victims, then the next day Matlock is getting called by the starring suspect of the show, to be proven innocent.\u00a0 For the most part of the series, Matlock has only had innocent suspects, but one of my favorite episodes is when Matlock actually gets a guilty woman who manipulates him into making viewing her innocent.\u00a0 She really thought she had him, but she forgot with age comes experience, and Matlock knew how to win her game and put the actual suspect in jail. \u00a0 The episode is called \u201cThe Accused\u201d and that\u2019s something I could get into if I didn\u2019t watch a single Matlock episode at all. \u00a0 Matlock also gets brownie points because half of the time his clients don\u2019t pay him with money, they pay him with food which is why I love him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18656\" \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18654\" 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0Monk is also an American crime drama series.\u00a0 Unlike Matlock, it follows events in the main characters&#8217; storyline as they go through handling the cases.\u00a0 Adrian Monk is comical, but not in the way you might think, he\u2019s not \u201cHaha\u201d funny, he\u2019s more on the side of \u201cYou\u2019re so smart but is so ridiculous\u201d side.\u00a0 Monk is a former detective with an obsessive-compulsive disorder who consults with the police.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His disorder is a huge impact in the show, because it helps him solve mostly all of the cases with the police.\u00a0 But, while it\u2019s helpful it\u2019s also very annoying for the people who work with him because they have to make sure everything is clean before he investigates it, or they would have to crawl in dirty places that need to be looked at because he refused to do it. \u00a0 I mean it\u2019s so serious that the running joke of the show is that Monk only drinks one type of water.\u00a0 It\u2019s Sierra Springs Water, that\u2019s the only water he drinks.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t even drink his own filtered tap water.\u00a0 I\u2019m not judging, but everyone in the series does judge.\u00a0 Like seriously, he got stopped at the border because he was taking 2 full suitcases of Sierra Springs water to Mexico.\u00a0 Just thinking about it is making me giggle, I know someone similar to this, but Monk is a whole other story.\u00a0 \u00a0 The show also is top notch because the theme song is by Randy Newman or known to some of the younger people as the <em>Toy Story<\/em> guy.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s a Jungle Out There\u201d is so catchy and many people agree because it<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music according to Google.\u00a0 So, yea, it\u2019s really great in my opinion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18651\" 400;\">\u00a0My Grandma did it to me. \u00a0 This was just something she had on all the time, that I became so engrossed in it. \u00a0 First and foremost, she had a crush on James Arness who played Matt Dillon and secondly, she used to \u201crest her eyes\u201d while this played and would jump out of her skin when me and my sisters would try to change this channel. \u00a0 So, after the point of her waking up fully, she\u2019ll play this for like, 72 hours straight.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be back at my mom\u2019s house and still hear that playing from the 40 minutes away drive.\u00a0 With that being said: Gunsmoke is set during the settlement of the American West and the main protagonist is sheriff Marshal Matt Dillon, he\u2019s the keeper of everything in Dodger City.\u00a0 If there\u2019s a robbery, he solves it, if a mom is going on a killing spree while her estranged daughter is away, he knows about it, if there\u2019s a man getting drunk after his best friend killed the drunk man\u2019s wife, Matt can help that man be clean again while catching the murderer.\u00a0 Also, these are some of the many episodes I watched. \u00a0 Even though the show was in black and white, and had some poor graphics, I loved it.\u00a0 The acting was good, and I loved Matt Dillon\u2019s compassion. \u00a0 One episode, he tried to help these kids save their father who was falsely accused of a murder.\u00a0 The man was going to be executed, leaving behind his young son and daughter, but Matt wasn\u2019t going to let that happen.\u00a0 He worked really hard to solve a case that wasn\u2019t even in his jurisdiction.\u00a0 The show was beautiful.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is why, it\u2019s one of the elites for me. It was just that good.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walker Texas Ranger\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18650\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ranger-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ranger-204x300.jpg 204w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ranger-697x1024.jpg 697w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ranger-768x1129.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Ranger.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 85vw, 204px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe eye of the ranger.\u00a0 The oh so helpful stranger.\u00a0 Who better knows the truth from wrong and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">right.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Or something like that, I really never knew the exact lyrics.\u00a0 I just remember my siblings and I going around singing this to each other, right lyrics or not.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walker Texas Ranger is one of the shows that I started watching by myself without the influence of my grandmother.\u00a0 I stumbled upon it one day when there was nothing to watch and note this was during the times when<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Chiller <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">existed and all they played were reruns, so you had to scavenger hunt on the DirecTV channel for a good show.\u00a0 I just had it on for background noise while I did my homework, when I heard gunshots.\u00a0 Wondering what was going on I looked at my TV and noticed some guys fighting with kicks and all that.\u00a0 So, to say, it caught my attention. \u00a0 I watched this show probably up until I was in the 8th grade I think, but that\u2019s because my mom switched to Roku, and we got some streaming channels.\u00a0 It was great.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oh yea, and the plot is similar to the modern day Gunsmoke, and it\u2019s inspired by the film<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Lone Wolf McQuade.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 That\u2019s it, thanks for going down memory lane with me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Hello Lovelies!\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Today we\u2019re going back to the good ole days!
