{"id":17737,"date":"2023-08-31T10:24:36","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T15:24:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/?p=17737"},"modified":"2023-08-31T10:24:39","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T15:24:39","slug":"the-chapter-of-the-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/2023\/08\/31\/the-chapter-of-the-end\/","title":{"rendered":"The Chapter of the End"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hi, welcome back Lovelies. \u00a0 For this post I\u2019m not going to review any Thriller or Mystery shows, instead, I&#8217;m showing one of my works from my younger days that was revised.\u00a0 This work is in the genre of Thriller and Mystery.\u00a0 Here you go \u00a0 ?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-17738\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/magic-book-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"405\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/magic-book-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/magic-book-1024x737.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/magic-book-768x553.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.msabrookhaven.org\/literary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/magic-book.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 405px) 85vw, 405px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tommy Walt is sitting in his bed flipping through a magazine when his TV switches to the Scream movie.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riley Day is walking down the street late at night while reading a book that she wants to finish so much. \u00a0 It\u2019s a horror suspense book about kids that disappear from their houses mysteriously.\u00a0 She flashes her camera light on her book in one hand as she keeps walking. \u00a0 She starts reading back aloud.\u00a0 \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tommy looks around to make sure he isn\u2019t sitting on his remote.\u00a0 When he notices that he isn\u2019t, he doesn\u2019t deem it weird; he just shrugs it off. \u00a0 With no worry; Tommy relaxes and goes back to reading. Not even seconds later; he hears someone throw what sounds like a rock at his downstairs door.\u00a0 He jumps, now that\u2019s weird because he\u2019s home alone so nobody in his family is pranking him.\u00a0 \u201cWho\u2019s there?\u201d\u00a0 he asks.\u00a0 Silence. \u00a0 He just decides to get up and change the TV.\u00a0 Minutes later he hears faint scratching on his bedroom window.\u00a0 That\u2019s when he gets scared. Tap\u2026 Tap&#8230; That\u2019s all he hears.\u00a0 \u201cStop it!\u201d He shouts.\u00a0 But it doesn\u2019t work, and the scratching and the tapping get louder. \u00a0 It gets quiet until someone whispers very softly\u2026 \u201c Tooommmy\u201d It sounds like a soft howl of a girl.\u00a0 Tommy jumps out of bed again and runs to his bedroom door.\u00a0 It\u2019s locked.\u00a0 He wiggles it vigorously as he cries and panics. \u00a0 Instead of escaping the lights come off.\u00a0 \u201cAh!\u201d\u00a0 He shouts. \u00a0 He runs to his window about to open it, but comes to find out the windows are already open.\u00a0 He whimpers as he steps back falling to the floor.\u00a0 There\u2019s no escape unless\u2026 Tommy ran to the window and just as he was about to leap out a dark gloved hand clamps over his mouth from behind. \u00a0 Tommy meets pitch blackness. \u00a0 That night Tommy wasn\u2019t found in his bedroom.\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riley stops at a crosswalk as she finishes reading the first chapter of the book. \u00a0 \u201cTap&#8230;\u201d\u00a0 She looks around as she hears a faint sound, like the sound described in the book.\u00a0 Like Tommy, she shrugs it off and walks across the street, time for the next chapter. \u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leah Wright was putting on her make-up in the bathroom; the door shut so her parents wouldn\u2019t see her. \u00a0 She was singing aloud to her phone when she heard a deafening thump coming from the stairs.\u00a0 She quickly turned off her music.\u00a0 \u201cMom&#8230;? Dad&#8230;?!\u201d\u00a0 Leah shouted; she didn\u2019t get a response.\u00a0 After her family had been robbed when she was young Leah took no chances.\u00a0 She quickly opened the door and peeked out.\u00a0 The hall was clear, but Leah could feel in her chills that something was wrong. \u00a0 She quietly stepped out of the bathroom.\u00a0 When she heard no noise, she ran to her bedroom in the hall and grabbed her phone. \u00a0 She quickly texted her friend Riley: Someone\u2019s in my house. \u00a0 Leah then slowly got her softball bat and creaked down the hall until she was near the staircase. \u00a0 The stairs looked like they went on for eternity.\u00a0 \u201cHello?\u201d\u00a0 Leah called out.\u00a0 She heard no response, but she did hear something crash like glass in the kitchen\u00a0 followed by the lights coming off.\u00a0 Leah gasps with fear. \u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c Oh&#8230; no don\u2019t go down the stairs, Leah.\u201d\u00a0 Riley whispers to the book as she stops to sit on a sidewalk. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0Leah starts to walk down the steps then something grabs her hair. \u00a0 She shouts and thrashes, dropping her bat in the process.\u00a0 The intruder pulled her back hard, but Leah pushed away, and when she let go of the grip\u2026 She tumbled down the stairs.\u00a0 Each fall a \u201c thump..bop.. Boof.\u201d\u00a0 Leah is knocked out barely breathing as she lies on the floor.\u00a0 The intruder walks down the steps slowly and grips Leah\u2019s ankles, her parents in the corner with their mouths and bodies taped up as the intruder drags Leah away.\u00a0 Like Tommy, she didn\u2019t come back home that night.\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riley finishes another chapter, but as she keeps reading, she notices that strangely all of the characters have the same names as Riley\u2019s friends.\u00a0 But she keeps reading, not paying it any mind.\u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Belle Hollis gets out of her friends\u2019 car watching as they drive off. \u00a0 She slowly pulls out her phone as she walks up to her doorstep. \u00a0 Stopping to read the text her boyfriend sent her;\u00a0 she hears a rustle over her soft laugh.\u00a0 She quickly looks up. \u00a0 No one\u2019s there.\u00a0 Rolling her eyes at her own eeriness Belle goes to unlock the door.\u00a0 But before she could finish turning the knob something huge hit Belle in the back of the head, it felt like a bat. \u00a0 She groaned as her vision wavered; she tried to scream when she saw the hooded all-black attacker above her. \u00a0 It was too late.\u00a0 Belle is kicked in the temple as her breath goes away and she bleeds on the concrete. \u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riley is almost to her destination as she turns to the next chapter, she isn\u2019t creeped out about anything she reads, she just wants to finish the book.\u00a0 Crunch&#8230; Crunch&#8230;\u00a0 Riley snaps her neck to the source of the sound, but she doesn\u2019t see anything she has to run as she hears sirens in the distance.\u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The person who wears the black hood and the black gloves sat crouched behind the car in Alex Wolfley&#8217;s garage as they waited patiently for him to step out. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The book stops there, it needs to be finished.\u00a0 Riley puts the book on the driveway and puts on her black hood as she watches the boy step out of the door.\u00a0 He heard the sound of her throwing rocks and he noticed when she turned off the lights from the powerbox outside.\u00a0 \u201c Hello&#8230; Who\u2019s there?\u201d \u00a0 Riley doesn\u2019t respond; she only creeps behind the second car as she throws Leah softball for a diversion.\u00a0 She watches from under the car as Alex picks it up.\u00a0 \u201cLeah..? No.. she\u2019s gone.\u201d\u00a0 She feels bad as she hears him talking to himself.\u00a0 But not for too long, she shuts the garage door with the button on the side. \u00a0 \u201c Who\u2019s..s there?\u201d\u00a0 Alex\u2019s voice shakes as he gets nervous.\u00a0 Like clockwork, Riley turns off the lights, and like usual Alex runs to the back door that leads into the house but when he is distracted by the ball Riley puts a padlock on the door.
