* Authors note: This is about my best friend Ashton\u2019s average high school day in the life. I didn’t feel like my day was exciting enough to post on here. I may do it one day but for now I hope this is interesting getting a peek into his life and how he balances his academics and multiple sports in a positive way. Day In My Life<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Waking up.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My most recognized blessing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I love the smell of cinnamon on my body<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I scratch an itch on my back<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Oh, how wonderful is that?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fed my dogs my most prized possessions of them all\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What would I do without them I do not know, but I hope I will never know<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel alone as 3 buses pass me on my way to school<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I eat at home, so I pass the cafeteria<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So many souls in one place how do I reach them all<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soul to soul heart to heart what will happen when we all part?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I walk into class I examine all the sounds I am not a part of band, but I need it to make my world go \u2018round\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ACT PREP why can\u2019t I just take the test?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You cannot give me the questions so what am I prepping for?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My next class is AP, how hard will it be?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

US history, do not get me started\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I do not want to be part of that party<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What history do I need to know about a place that industrialized and benefitted off the suffering of others\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now they are making me take college and career readiness<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What in the world am I getting ready for?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An apocalypse?…<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Algebra 2 they just got that class out of the blue<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have taken so much math I cannot fathom to add and subtract<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Athletics\/ the only reason I come to school<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I hate learning but love running<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Going over plays is like making money<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I leave it all on the field and sometimes on the court\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The only way I could stop this cycle is to abort\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mission<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But that would mean giving up, and \u201cmomma didn\u2019t raise no quitter\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, here I am every day getting on the bus, getting my way<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether it be in class or extracurricular\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
